2024 F1 Ticket Prices Ranked: China Cheapest, Vegas Most Expensive

China sells the cheapest F1 tickets in 2024 and Las Vegas the most expensive, data from our extensive annual analysis of Formula 1 ticket prices shows.

After significant appreciation in the past few seasons, boosted by strong post-pandemic demand and global inflation, F1 ticket prices have continued to climb at the majority of races in 2024. Formula 1 tickets are going on sale earlier than ever and the most popular races are still selling out quickly, though demand for tickets is not uniformly high across the calendar. Weaker demand for tickets in the USA has been observed over the past 12 months due to very high ticket prices. Promoters at the races in Miami, Austin and Las Vegas have responded by freezing or reducing prices across most ticket categories in 2024.

How F1 ticket prices were sourced and how the rankings were calculated:

  • For the purposes of this ranking, we’ve analyzed three common types of F1 tickets available across the calendar; General Admission (the cheapest tickets available, which don’t offer a reserved seat), the cheapest available grandstand tickets (reserved seats), and grandstand seats opposite the pits/grid.
  • We have not analyzed or compared prices for trackside hospitality suites
  • Ticket prices have been taken from official sources (circuit or promoter website) and don’t include processing or delivery fees.
  • Prices are for 3-day tickets, unless stated otherwise.
  • Regular ticket prices have been used for this ranking, rather than discounted or early-bird ticket prices that are offered at some races for a limited period of time
  • Conversions from local currency to USD have been made at current exchange rates (March 2024).
  • Tickets don’t go on sale for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix until March 25, but ticket prices have been announced.

2024 F1 Tickets: China Cheapest, Vegas Most Expensive

See the end of this article for a full price table displaying all three ticket types analyzed and average prices for all 24 races on the 2024 F1 calendar.

The returning Chinese Grand Prix (not held since 2019) is the cheapest F1 race to attend in 2024. On average, 3-day tickets for the race in Shanghai cost $199 USD, only a shade cheaper than tickets for the second cheapest race weekend of 2024, the Hungarian Grand Prix (average ticket prices $207 USD). Unfortunately, getting your hands on tickets for the Chinese Grand Prix at advertised prices is not easy. Demand from race-starved local fans, who also now have a Chinese driver to support, has been very high. Tickets for the first Chinese Grand Prix in five years sold out very rapidly when they went on sale in January.

Japan narrowly edges out Bahrain to be the third cheapest race to buy tickets for in 2024, while average ticket prices for Australia (aided by a favorable exchange rate) are also under $300 USD. Tickets are also cheap in Canada (also thanks to a favorable exchange rate), while affordable races to attend in Europe include both the Italian races at Imola and Monza, as well as the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix.

The average 3-day F1 ticket price on the 2024 calendar is $498 USD. This represents a 2% increase over the average USD ticket price in 2023 ($488 USD). When expressed in local currencies, ticket prices are on average 8.5% higher year on year in 2024.

To calculate the average price of 3-day tickets at each race, we’ve averaged the prices of the three ticket categories. Without detailed data for the number of tickets sold at each race in each grandstand/ticket category, the average prices provided below are only estimates.

At the other end of the scale, the most expensive race to attend this season is in Las Vegas, where the average ticket price is an eye-watering $1,617 USD, more than three times the season average of $498 USD. (It should be noted that grandstand tickets in Vegas do include stadium food and non-alcoholic drinks. No other race offers complimentary food and drinks with standard trackside access). Despite ticket prices falling by around 20%, the Miami Grand Prix is the second-most expensive race to attend this season with an average ticket price of $878 USD.

Other expensive races to attend include the Mexico City Grand Prix, though this is largely due to the very high cost of Main Grandstand seats at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, which pushes up the average ticket prices for this race. The most expensive races to attend in Europe are the Monaco Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix, though Silverstone’s use of dynamic pricing makes it difficult to analyze ticket prices for this race. Buyers who secured their seats early for the 2024 British Grand Prix will have paid a lot less than currently advertised prices.

Average F1 Ticket Prices 8.5% Higher in 2024 (Local Currency)

Comparing the three main categories of F1 tickets in our analysis - general admission, the cheapest grandstand seats and seats opposite the starting grid - prices have risen on average 8.5% from 2023 to 2024 when expressed in local currency.

The biggest price rises can be seen at some of last year’s cheapest races (Australia, Japan, Canada, Austria, Hungary). With prices at these races coming off a relatively low base, they remain cheap when compared to the rest of the calendar when expressed in USD.

Some races which were already on the expensive side have also raised their prices further for 2024, notably the Monaco Grand Prix, where grandstand seats are 10-15% more expensive this year. Cheaper ticket categories at the Singapore Grand Prix have seen price increases of 15-25%, while most ticket prices in Azerbaijan are 10% higher this year.

The promoters of the races in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy (Monza) and Mexico City have raised prices more or less in line with inflation, adding around 5% on average to 2024 ticket prices.

Prices are not higher at every race, though. Ticket prices in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Italy (Imola) have remained largely unchanged since last year.

Ticket Prices Falling in USA, Still High Relative to Rest of the Calendar

After the promoters of races in Miami, Austin and Las Vegas struggled to sell some of their ticket inventory last year, we can already observe that the upward trajectory of F1 ticket prices in the USA has come to an end. Attending a race in the USA in 2023 cost around twice as much as the season average. And it seems like Americans had a limit as to how much they were prepared to pay, as not all tickets were sold and others had to be steeply discounted in the weeks leading up to last year’s three races in the USA.

As well as more expensive tickets, other factors may have also contributed to less demand for F1 tickets in 2023, especially in the USA. These include the dominance of Max Verstappen, who won 19 out of the 22 races last season, and had wrapped up the title with six races remaining (before the races in Austin and Las Vegas), as well as higher inflation and interest rates, which negatively impacted investment markets, consumer confidence and spending.

Tickets for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix have seen the largest price reductions, with the three categories covered in our ranking over 20% cheaper on average than last year. General Admission and selected grandstand tickets are also cheaper at the 2024 United States Grand Prix. Prices for General Admission in Las Vegas start higher in 2024, but the organizers have promised to make a lot more tickets available this year in the cheapest category. Whilst not covered in this analysis, the biggest price reductions at the stateside races in 2024 can be observed for hospitality suites.

Despite the price reductions, all three stateside races retain some of the highest ticket prices on the 2024 Formula 1 calendar, with Las Vegas the most expensive of all at more than three times the season average (though grandstand seats in Las Vegas do include stadium food and non-alcoholic drinks).

2024 General Admission Ticket Prices

Sometimes known as standing or roaming tickets, General Admission (GA) tickets offer the cheapest access to the circuit but without a reserved seat. It should be noted that the level and quality of access provided in General Admission areas varies considerably across the calendar. Some circuits offer access to various parts of the circuit with viewing platforms, while at other circuits you will be confined to a particular area or zone.

The average price for 3-day General Admission tickets in 2024 is $238 USD, which represents an increase from 2023 of $6 USD (2.6%). When expressed in local currency, GA ticket prices have increased year on year by an average of 8.4%.

General Admission tickets are cheapest in Shanghai, where access to several grassy areas will set you back just $67 USD for three days at the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix. Also priced below the $100 USD mark are 3-day tickets for the West Open Area in Japan and General Admission (Circolare) at the 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. GA tickets are also affordable at the Italian, Hungarian, Austrian and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, costing less than $150 USD for three days.

Despite large price reductions in both Austin ($389 USD) and Miami ($435 USD), three out of the four most expensive General Admission tickets on the 2024 calendar are sold at races in the USA. The most expensive of all are in Las Vegas, where 3-day Flamingo General Admission tickets will set you back $600 USD.

Please Note:

  • GA tickets are not yet on sale for the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. 2023 prices are listed.
  • GA tickets are not sold in Bahrain or Sao Paulo. The ticket price of the cheapest grandstand ticket is provided instead for these races.
  • Dynamic pricing is being used for the 2024 British Grand Prix. Currently advertised GA prices were used for this ranking, which are higher than the starting prices.
  • GA (Park Pass) tickets for the 2024 Australian Grand Prix are sold for four days, rather than three days

2024 Cheapest Grandstand Ticket Prices

We have also analyzed prices for the cheapest 3-day reserved seats at every race on the 2024 Formula 1 calendar. At this price point, most grandstands are uncovered and more likely to offer bench (or bleacher) seating rather than individual seats.

The average price for the cheapest 3-day reserved seats in 2024 is $391 USD, virtually unchanged from last year ($390 USD). When expressed in local currency, prices for the cheapest grandstand tickets at each race increased by an average of 8.6% from 2023 to 2024.

The cheapest 3-day reserved seats in 2024 are sold in Hungary, where the Bronze 1 and 2 grandstands are priced at only €140 EUR ($153 USD). Also priced under the $200 USD mark in 2024 are 3-day seats in Japan’s Grandstand G ($169 USD) and Bahrain’s Victory Grandstand ($172 USD).

A good number of races offer affordable 3-day seats priced between $200-300 USD, including the Italian races at Imola & Monza, the Middle Eastern races in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as Canada, São Paulo, Austria and Azerbaijan.

The highest prices for the cheapest grandstand seats can be found in Britain (Farm Curve Grandstand, $580 USD), Miami (Beach Grandstand, $600 USD), Monaco (X1/X2 Grandstands, $903 USD) and Las Vegas (SG3, SG8 Grandstands, $1,500 USD).

Please Note:

  • Dynamic pricing is being used for the 2024 British Grand Prix. Currently advertised grandstand ticket prices were used for this ranking, which are higher than the starting prices.
  • Grandstand tickets for the 2024 Australian Grand Prix are sold for four days
  • Grandstand seats in Las Vegas include stadium food and non-alcoholic drinks

2024 Main Grandstand Ticket Prices

Grandstand seats opposite the pits and starting grid, more often than not covered and located in what is known as the “Main Grandstand”, are normally amongst the most expensive available at each circuit.

The average price for 3-day Main Grandstand tickets (grandstand seats opposite the pits/grid in 2024) is $867 USD, an increase from 2023 of $26 USD (3.1%). When expressed in local currency, prices for Main Grandstand tickets have increased year on year by an average of 8.4%.

China offers the cheapest grandstand seats opposite the pits and starting grid on the 2024 F1 calendar, with Grandstand A Low seats at Shanghai International Circuit priced at $321 USD, a little cheaper than Super Gold (Rows 1-12) seats at the Hungarian Grand Prix ($338 USD). Seats in the Fangio Grandstand at the Australian Grand Prix ($384 USD) are also affordable.

Prices for Main Grandstand tickets are also reasonably affordable ($600-700 USD) at several popular races in Europe, such as Imola and Monza in Italy, Spain, Belgium and Austria.

At the other end of the price spectrum, the most expensive seats opposite the pits in 2024 can of course be found at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where you’ll pay at least $2,750 USD for three days (including stadium food and non-alcoholic drinks). The second most expensive seats in the Main Grandstand are on sale in Mexico City ($1,746 USD). Despite costing more than twice the average net monthly wage in Mexico, Main Grandstand tickets (and all other tickets in Mexico) always sell out quickly. Main Grandstand seats in Miami are 15.8% cheaper this year ( $1,600 USD), but at are still the third most expensive on the calendar.

Please Note:

  • Due to the unusual track layout at Circuit de Monaco, the pits are not located opposite the starting grid. For Monaco, we've chosen Grandstand T for this ticket category, as it faces the pits.
  • Dynamic pricing is being used for the 2024 British Grand Prix. Currently advertised prices were used for this ranking, which are higher than the starting prices.
  • Grandstand tickets for the 2024 Australian Grand Prix are sold for four days
  • Grandstand seats in Las Vegas include stadium food and non-alcoholic drinks
