After joining the Formula 1 calendar in 2016, Baku City Circuit has staged several exciting races. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was cancelled in 2020 and held without spectators in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar until at least 2026. Tickets for this year’s edition of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix went on sale in the early part of the year with a 20% early-bird discount in place for those buying before March 5. It’s not yet known if the early-bird discount will be in place for 2025 tickets, when they go on sale.
Due to the circuit’s location in the city centre, few grandstands offer views over more than one or two corners. We recommend sitting in one of the grandstands closer to the start/finish line, as they offer better access to the excellent fanzone. With a low number of international visitors making the trip to Baku and excellent organization, we really recommend attending this race. Baku is also a fascinating destination and the city centre location of the track allows you to really immerse yourself in the local culture and history.
2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Ticket Packages from F1 Experiences
We recommend Official Ticket Packages from F1 Experiences for the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which include grandstand seating or access to premium hospitality. Additional activities in Baku include an Exclusive Pit Lane Walk, Guided Track Tour & more. Prices start from $899 USD. Baku offers the cheapest access to the Formula 1 Paddock Club on the 2025 F1 calendar, with 3-day packages now on sale from $5,250 USD. Check F1 Experiences Baku Ticket Packages
Need to Know: Azerbaijan Grand Prix Tickets
- All grandstands have numbered seats & offer a view of a large TV screen
- All 4-day grandstand tickets include access to entertainment zones around the circuit, as well as the pit lane walk on Thursday afternoon and concerts at Crystal Hall on Saturday & Sunday nights
- General Admission tickets are only available for 3 days and do not include access to the pit lane walk (Thursday) or the concerts at Crystal Hall
- The grandstand seats are black and can get really hot in the sun! Bring along a towel or something to cover your seat.
- Children’s tickets are available in all grandstands for children aged 2-16 years. The average discount on the price of an adult ticket is approximately 30%. Tickets are not required for children aged under 2 years, provided they do not occupy a seat, but organizers don’t recommend bringing very young children to the race.
Best Grandstands at Baku City Circuit?
- The pricing of the grandstands normally provides decent guidance on which will provide the best views. After the Absheron (Main) Grandstand, the second best is Azneft overlooking Turn 16. Special mention for the cheaper Icheri Sheher grandstand, which is located at the exit of the tricky series of turns near the old city walls.
- Two sections of the track (between Turns 6-7 and Turns 19-20) use the same section of road, so you can see both sections when you are seated in the Mughum, Sahil, Bulvar & Khazar grandstands near these sections.
Absheron Grandstand
Interested in the pits action, start and finish? Go for a seat in the most expensive Absheron (Main) grandstand, which is also the only covered grandstand in Baku. Absheron is separated into five sections. The largest, section C, is in the middle of the main straight and offers the best views of the start/finish line and pits. For the best racing action, choose seats in section E, closest to Turn 1 (see video above).
Azneft Grandstand
Sitting on the exit of Turn 16, the Azneft grandstand offers good views at Baku City Circuit. It’s set back some distance from the track, but views are generally not obstructed by the catch fencing (above the first few rows). The grandstand is situated in front of the start of the Fanzone, which runs along the beachside promenade known as the ‘Bulvar.’
Hi is there like a place outside the racetrack (Restaurant) to watch the Azerbaijan grand prix for 2017?
Hi Isaac, it’s possible that such places exist, but we don’t have any information yet. We will let you know if we find out more!
Hi Andrew, would you know if the General Admission tickets allow for decent views of the racing? Or would it make more sense to buy in one of the grandstands?
Thanks for your help.
As the General Admission tickets are only available for single days, it makes sense to buy a cheaper grandstand ticket if you are going for all 3 days of the weekend. You still get to use the General Admission areas and it works out cheaper.
We bought general for race day in Baku coming from Cape Town South Africa any advise you can give us for best views and experience
I live in Baku and have attended some of the F1 events with General Admission tickets. My favorite spot was turn 19 next to the Mugham grandstand. cars nearest are builing up to top speed for the final straightaway, and you can also see the cars opposite execute the tight Turn 7, and then disappear into the Old City in turn 8.
There are plenty of places to walk and relax. The only downside is that you are standing to watch the racing.
Thanks for the tips!
Hi Andrew, is it possible to specify the area of any grandstand? E.g. south/north part or upper/middle/lower seats?
Hi Ewan, it’s not possible to choose specific seats, but you can make a request for a specific areas when purchasing with Gootickets, and they will try to accommodate you from their allocation of tickets..
Hi Andrew,
Planning to travel for the baku grand prix. On a budget and just want to view the race with my wife and 10 month old. Which stand would you recommend? Do I need to buy a ticket for my 10 month old? Also if a buy a ticket now, any possibility to return/refund the ticket in case of change in travel plans? Help would be highly appreciated.
Hi Ali, I’d just buy one of the cheaper grandstands like Bulvar, which is also well located close to the F1 Fan Zone.
Information about your child: “Children under age two (2) do not need a Ticket when accompanied by an adult companion Ticket Holder (over the age of eighteen (18)) in possession of a Ticket and valid ID. Children (under age two (2)) will have to be kept on an adult’s lap without occupying a seat.”
You won’t be able to get a refund or return your tickets if your plans change. In that case, the only option would be to try and sell the tickets on to someone else.
Thank you so much Andrew.
Hello, with the 2020 race doubtful (unless it gets rearranged), I’d be looking at going to this race in the next year or 2, as this is a race that I really want to tick off my list, and Baku looks like a spectacular place to visit. I’d love to make a mini holiday out of my trip. I’m happy to pay for a main grandstand seat, but I was also wondering how much of the city gets closed down for the race?
The old city sections look quite cool to explore, but are they closed to the public during the race weekend? Does the cost of accommodation go up dramatically over this weekend?
Hi Andrew..
Looking to travel to the Baku GP in April with my wife and 8month old kid. Is there any way to buy the Absheron Stand Ticket but only for Quali + Race day? Every where I’ve looked I’ve seen 04 Day tickets for Absheron.
Friday only and weekend (Sat + Sun) tickets are now available in selected grandstands. Buy here.
Hi Andrew,
I’ve a trip planned in the region during 2019 Baku F1 race week. I was planning to attend the race on Sunday. Is there a ticket location where I can get race day grandstand ticket? If not which grandstand (Mugham or Icheri Sheher) would you suggest for sat+sun ticket. Other then the main grandstand which grandstand has the best action (overtaking).
Thank you
Hi Paresh, the organizers have now released Friday only and weekend (Saturday + Sunday) tickets for select grandstands. Buy here.
Hi
Coming through for the 2019 Baku GP. Would like to know:
1) What area in Baku is it best to stay – will be attending quali and the race
2) Any recommendations in terms of hotels?
3) Cheapest way to book tickets – gooticketc?F1expericences?
4) Do grand stand tickets allow access to general admission areas and are seats reserved? Can I request tickets higher up – to provide better views?
5) Any other attractions in Baku worth checking out? Will be there from the Friday – Monday/Tuesday.
Any advice is much appreciated!
Hi Aj,
1) Within walking distance of the circuit, if possible
2) Hilton Baku, Park Inn by Radisson Baku, Marriott etc
3) If you are just after tickets, buy from Gootickets. If you want additional activities, go for F1 Experiences
4) Yes, if you buy a grandstand ticket, you can still enter the General Admission areas. Yes, grandstand seats are reserved. You can request to be higher up – Gootickets cannot guarantee, but will try to fulfil your requirements.
5) Lots to see and do in this city. Check out Off-Track Activities for some ideas.
Hi Andrew,
Do they offer like brunch offers similar to Abu Dhabi GP weekend? Traveling from UAE for this years GP when released and after a full day hospitality offering.
Also does the tickets for the GP include the after show entertainment again similar to UAE event.
Thanks in Advance
Brunch at the track or in general? I’m not sure, sorry. But given that Baku probably gets a lot of visitors from UAE, it’s possible in some of the 5-star hotels I guess. And yes, tickets for the race do include the concerts – they are now held at Crystal Hall, which is a little distance away from the track. More info in Trackside
Is it worth the extra to go in Absheron C over Absheron B? I appreciate that C is covered whereas B isn’t but some of the pictures I have seen suggest that B might actually give better views of the grid.
If C is the right answer, I would usually choose to go higher rather than lower but it appears that here, views from the upper level may be impeded by the Rolex advert above the track. Is this correct?
Hi Mark, I haven’t personally sat in the Absheron. However, I do know that many of the seats have compromised views for different reasons. I’d go for C as it’s only $50 more and the roof will come in handy to keep out of sun/rain.
Hi Andrew, I am going to this year’s Baku race. I am only going on race day so opted for a general admission ticket.
I was just wondering if you had any tips on the best locations around the track for people with general admission tickets?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Fraser, I’m going as well for the first time this year – so I cannot recommend specific places. But I hear the General Admission views are not so good, because there is netting covering the inner fencing. My advice would have been to buy the cheapest grandstand seat, sorry! Check this new Trip Report out here.
Hi there,
Is the Baku GP 2022 open to Americans after getting a pre-approved visa?
Yes, I don’t see why not. But always do your research on official government websites
What view does staying at Four Seasons provide?
Four Seasons in Singapore is not next to the track, so the rooms won’t have views. Maybe a distant one if your room is facing the right direction.
Hi
It’s my first gp to attend. Can you buy tickets on gates in baku GP? Is it more expensive?
Do you need physical tickets to enter or do websites provide you just a file to print it yourself? If physical tickets are needed, do they send you tickets to your country?!
Hello, tickets are selling fast for the event – it’s better to buy in advance as tickets may not be available at the gates. I believe the tickets for grandstands are all e-tickets this year (probably some hospitality tickets are physical).
Hi Andrew. Looking at going to Baku 2023. Is it like other GP events where there are a lot of bars and food outlets around the track or with it being a street race do you just have to use the ones that are already in place in the city? Many Thanks, John
Good choice! I loved Baku and the race this year. I would say both. The fanzone on the Bulvar has both temporary bars/food outlets and also places that are normally there. Other parts of the track is the same, a mixture of both temporary food/drink and also established restaurants, fast food places.
Also looking to go to Baku 2023 – any ideas when the tickets might be released?
Good choice, I really enjoyed my trip to this race a few months ago. Not sure when tickets will go on sale, normally later in the year. It’s also possible that the race will move dates once again, perhaps back to September where it used to be
Great website! Looking to head to Baku in 2023, how did you find the flights from England? I am really struggling to find good/cheap/quick routes to Baku.
Hi Brad, I’m actually based in Poland and I flew direct from Warsaw with LOT Polish Airlines. This could be a good connection to fly via Warsaw from the UK. Other flights you may consider are with Wizz Air from Budapest. Also check Lufthansa, as they have a code share with Azerbaijan Airlines. I actually flew back with Lufthansa via Frankfurt. Also check this post for more info.
That’s very helpful, thanks Andrew
Hi Andrew, do you know if Saturday-Sunday grandstand tickets will be released for 2023 or if only Friday-Sunday grandstand tickets are available?
Hi Kate, only 3-day grandstand tickets are available in Azerbaijan.
Hi!
When I went to Silverstone this summer we had reserved grandstand seats for the Sunday, but for the Friday / Saturday we were able go sit in any grandstand, it wasn’t reserved on those days. Do you know if its the same for Baku?
Also where would you recommend sitting?
Thanks!
No, it’s not the same in Baku – Silverstone is unique in this case (though some circuits still have Free Friday, where you are free to sit in any grandstand). Grandstands are reserved for all three days in Baku. As for recommended places to watch, I’d be going for Absheron or one of the grandstands close to that, like Bulvar or Sahil. I think you really want to be close to the Fanzone on the shorefront.
Hi Andrew, looking to attend this race for the first time this year.
I was wondering if your aware of any spots to watch the action in the middle part of the lap. Such as GA or “unofficial GA” like the Marina area in Abu Dhabi.
It seems GA isn’t as expansive when compared to other city circuits like Singapore.
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks.
Honestly, I’m not convinced that GA is very good in Azerbaijan. It’s quite difficult to get to different parts of the circuit, lots of roads closed etc. And no elevation, so mostly you will be looking at the fencing. Unofficial GA in Azerbaijan is more like apartment balconies, but you would need to know some locals or knock on doors to get to these. I’d recommend buying at least the cheapest grandstand so you have a seat for quali and the race; you could still walk around and check out the GA areas.
Hi Andrew
I have a 2023 Baku Gp Roaming ticket for Sunday can ı visit Fanzone?
Yes, you can visit the Fanzone. All ticket holders can go there
Hi Andrew,
Do you know when does the ticket sell for the 2024 grand prix will start and what is the best way to buy ticket to the event?
Thanks
Not sure, but for the 2023 race, the tickets didn’t go on sale until late 2022. Sign up to our mailing list and check the box for Azerbaijan for more info. I think you can also sign up to the circuit’s mailing list here.
Hi Andrew, Thanks!
What is your recommendation regarding the grandstands available if I want to see some overtakes?
For overtakes, I think the best would be the first corner, so that would be the Absheron E tickets. For cheaper tickets, you should also see some overtaking from the Azneft grandstand next to Turn 16
Hey andrew,
Do you know the Single Prices for one day for Absheron( best sunday),sheher and mugham?
Thanks for your answer
Hi Lars, I don’t have a record of the single day ticket prices, only for 4 days.
This year, the prices were as follows:
4-Day Absheron = $740-800 USD
4-Day Icheri Sheher = $460 USD
4-Day Mugham = $410 USD
Single-day roaming tickets (General Admission) were $70 on Friday, $90 on Saturday and $120 on Sunday
Remember when you are buying Sunday only tickets, the discount is not normally that much from the 4-day price
Hope that helps
hi
me and a friend planning to go to baku for the race 2024

would you kindly tell us how we can buy our tickets
on your map i see 5 areas designated as “general admission”

your help is appreciated
Tickets are not yet on sale. If you buy General Admission tickets, you can go to any of the areas on the map.
hi
at this moment 3 days general admissinon tickets for Azerbaijan grand prix are for 148$ on viagogo,
could you tell me if it is real tickets or it is spam?
i want to buy tickets for Azerbaijan and i would be thankfull if you give me some advice for where to buy this tickets and how much would it costs?
Viagogo shouldn’t be selling tickets as they are not officially on sale yet. What is happening is that a user is trying to sell tickets that they don’t have. Please don’t use Viagogo or similar sites unless all other ticket options are sold out. PLease be patient. Official tickets will be on sale soon. You can sign up to our mailing list (tick the box for Azerbaijan) and we will inform you when tickets are on sale. More information about the cost of tickets in Azerbaijan is here.
Hi Andrew, any idea what the price difference is between a 3-day and 2-day pass?
Am I risking not being able to get any tickets if I pass on the 3-day option and wait for Sat-Sun only?
2-day passes I am not sure will be available. Anyway, the real money for the organizers is in Sunday tickets, so the price differential between 2-day and 3-day is often very small. Get your 3-day now, choose the best seats. Worst case scenario, you can try to sell your Friday pass on one of the resale platforms to get a bit of money back.
Buongiorno.
Pensi che verranno messi in vendita o no?
(ho letto su reddit una cosa intellignete; ovvero che probabilmente il BCC aspetta a metterli più in là possibile per mettere sold out o quasi sold out le tribune)
ma comunque pensi verranno messi, o no?
Non abbiamo motivo di pensare che quest’anno i biglietti per l’ingresso generale non saranno disponibili. Sono sempre stati disponibili. Penso che potresti avere ragione e lo lasceranno finché le tribune non saranno esaurite.
