Formula 1 tickets remain in unprecedented demand once again for races in 2024, with some events having sold out within days of tickets going on sale. We recommend booking your tickets for the Monza race as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The Italian Grand Prix has provided a true racing spectacle in the past few years, with recent races at Monza resulting in unexpected victories for AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly in 2020 and McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo in 2021. The Tifosi were treated to a home win for Charles Leclerc in 2019 – something he’ll be hoping to emulate in 2024, after team-mate Carlos Sainz secured pole position in 2023. Max Verstappen has been victorious at Monza in the last two seasons, winning from seventh on the grid in 2022 and from the front row in 2023.
The Italian Grand Prix is one of only two, alongside the British Grand Prix, which has been ever-present on the Formula 1 schedule. Monza has hosted more Formula 1 races than any other circuit and has appeared on the calendar in all but one season.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Italian Grand Prix was held without fans in the grandstands. In 2021, the circuit ran at half capacity. Ticket sales for the 2021 event were disappointing, mainly due to inflated prices and the late launch of ticket sales. In 2022, Monza celebrated its centenary year with a record-breaking Italian Grand Prix weekend crowd of 337,000. However, the circuit also came under scrutiny for a largely disorganised race weekend, with fans facing long queues, a reduced fan zone offering and a lack in availability of free water points.
Things were much improved for fans trackside at the 2023 Italian Grand Prix, where attendance was capped at a lower number to help prevent a repeat of the previous year’s problems. There was a weekend crowd of just over 304,000 in 2023, with 97% of tickets for the event being sold in total.
