Lewis Capaldi & Khalid to Headline Concerts at 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Global chart-toppers Lewis Capaldi, Khalid, Stormzy and Foo Fighters will take to the stage at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This year’s race at Yas Marina Circuit is on December 9-12.

The 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to be the first race held on a revised layout of Yas Marina Circuit. With Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s title battle as close as ever, the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix could well be the title decider.

To add to the spectacle, the event will once again feature four of the biggest names in music performing on each night of the race weekend.

Khalid to perform on Thursday night

The first of the Yasalam After-Race Concert headliners for 2021 is American R&B artist Khalid. Khalid has received no fewer than six Grammy award nominations in his career to date, and earned a slot on Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2019.

He will take to the stage on Thursday evening, ahead of the first on-track action of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. This will be Khalid’s first performance in the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix organisers have announced that all ticket holders will be able to attend Thursday night’s concert, though tickets are on a first come, first served basis. When capacity is reached, entry will be refused.

Stormzy will perform on Friday

British rapper Stormzy will perform at Etihad Park on Friday night, following the first on-track action of the race weekend. Stormzy, whose hits include Big For Your Boots and Vossi Bop, last performed in the United Arab Emirates in February 2020, with a show that was supposed set to kick off his huge world tour. The tour was postponed due to the pandemic.

Lewis Capaldi headlines Saturday

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi will headline Saturday night’s entertainment at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. His song Someone You Loved  become the biggest-selling UK single of 2019, while the album was a top seller in both 2019 and 2020.

3-day ticket holders can access all four concerts over the race weekend, while 1 and 2-day ticket holders can attend the Thursday concert and the concert on the day for which they have tickets.

Foo Fighters will perform on Sunday night

The annual Etihad Park concerts have proved to be hugely popular recent years, with recent headliners including rock legends Guns N’ Roses and The Killers. 2021 will be no different, with Foo Fighters confirmed to be performing on Sunday evening.

Just after the curtain has closed on the 2021 season, Foo Fighters will take to the stage to perform well known classics such as Times Like These and Everlong. The band was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Sir Paul McCartney.
