Lewis Capaldi & Khalid to headline concerts at 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Global chart-toppers Lewis Capaldi and Khalid will take to the stage at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This year’s race at Yas Marina Circuit is on December 9-12.

Organisers of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix have confirmed the first two acts to take to the stage over the 2021 race weekend. The 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to be the first race held on a revised layout of Yas Marina Circuit. With Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s title battle as close as ever, the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix could well be the title decider.

To add to the spectacle, the event will once again feature four of the biggest names in music performing on each night of the race weekend. The annual Etihad Park concerts have proved to be hugely popular recent years, with recent headliners including Sam Smith, Guns N’ Roses, Lana Del Rey and The Killers.

Khalid to perform on Thursday night

The first of the Yasalam After-Race Concert headliners for 2021 is American R&B artist Khalid. Khalid has received no fewer than six Grammy award nominations in his career to date, and earned a slot on Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2019. He will take to the stage on Thursday evening, ahead of the first on-track action of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. This will be Khalid’s first performance in the United Arab Emirates.

Coronavirus protocols mean that race-goers will be able to attend only one concert over the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend in 2021. 2-Day and 3-Day ticket holders can attend any one of the four nightly concerts, while single day ticket holders can only attend the concert on the night for which they have tickets. As there are no single day tickets available for Thursday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, tickets for Khalid’s performance are available only for 2 and 3-day ticket holders.

Lewis Capaldi headlines Saturday

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi will headline Saturday night’s entertainment at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Capaldi rose to fame in 2019 with his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, topping the UK charts for six weeks. His song Someone You Loved  become the biggest-selling UK single of 2019, while the album was a top seller in both 2019 and 2020.

Two more headliners to be announced

Headline acts for Friday and Sunday nights at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are yet to be revealed. Reservations for Khalid and Lewis Capaldi’s performances will not be available until the other headline acts have been announced.

Race promoters say that existing ticket holders will be given a priority 48-hour window to select which concert they wish to attend. Concert choice will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
