Miami International Autodrome is located in the Miami Gardens area of Florida’s second most-populated city. The circuit is set out around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins. It is around 25km north of Downtown Miami. Being located around the Hard Rock Stadium – Miami’s largest sporting venue – the circuit already has well-established public transport links.
Airports near Miami International Autodrome
- Miami International Airport (MIA) is situated 25km south of Miami International Autodrome and is around a 20 minute drive from the circuit. The airport is located 13km northwest of Downtown Miami. It is the busiest airport in the area, with over 1,000 flights arriving and departing daily.
- 25km northeast of the circuit is Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Although smaller than Miami International Airport, the airport is a great choice for discount airlines and has over 700 daily flights.
- You’re less likely to use Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), which is some 95km north of Miami International Autodrome. This airport has the fewest daily connections of the three airports which serve Miami. Nonetheless, it’s the third busiest airport in the Miami area, serving many domestic routes year-round.

How to Get to Miami International Autodrome
Metrorail / Metrobus
The cheapest and easiest way to get to Miami International Autodrome is to use public transport. While the Metrorail service can take you from Miami International Airport into the heart of the city, the Metrobus service serves all of the city’s major entertainment centers – including Hard Rock Stadium.
The Metrobus service number 297 is the one which passes by Hard Rock Stadium. The route is accessible from Earlington Heights Station, with a journey time of under 20 minutes. Brownsville Station and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Station are also on this route. Journey times from these stations to Miami International Autodrome are 25 minutes.
The Metrorail service operates from 05:00 to 00:00 seven days a week and, paired with the Metrobus, is a great way of getting around the city during your stay in Miami. You can read more about the sights and attractions in the city in our guide to the best off-track activities.
Brightline Inter-City Trains
You can also ride the Brightline train from as far afield as Orlando to attend the Miami Grand Prix. The closest station to Miami International Autodrome is at Aventura Station. From there you can travel via a shuttle bus to Miami International Autodrome.
From the south, you can ride the Brightline from Miami Central Station to Aventura Station. From the North, you can ride the Brightline from Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale to Aventura Station.
Shuttles travel from Aventura Station to Lot 16 of Miami International Autodrome from 11:00-20:30 on Friday (May 3), 09:30-19:30 on Saturday (May 4) and 09:30-19:30 on Sunday (May 5). From Lot 16, it’s a short walk to Gate 3 where you can enter the circuit. (Check the campus map)

Taxi
With reasonable prices, taking a taxi or sharing a ride is another convenient way to make your way to Miami International Autodrome. You can ask your hotel to suggest a reputable taxi firm. Reputable firms include Yellow Taxi Miami, Super Yellow Taxi and Miami Taxi Services. There are plenty of taxi stands in downtown Miami. A list of locations of taxi stands can be found here. Tipping is optional but is generally expected for good service.
At the end of each day on Miami Grand Prix weekend, taxis are available on 199th Street outside Gate 4 at Miami International Autodrome (Approximate location / Campus Map). Taxis cannot be booked and are available on a first come, first served basis. Take cash as taxi drivers don’t normally accepted credit cards.
Ride Sharing
Uber and Lyft operate in the Miami area. A ride from downtown Miami to the circuit should cost you no more than $50, though surge pricing on the return trip can make fares much higher. Beware of unlicensed drivers posing as Uber drivers, especially in the area surrounding Hard Rock Stadium.
Please note that ride share vehicles cannot drop you off at the circuit gates. You will be dropped off (or picked up) at one of several ride share lots near the circuit, depending on whether you are coming from (or heading to) North, South or East of the circuit. Guests are encouraged to use the same rideshare location for both drop off and pick up. Car
Limited trackside parking is available for the Miami Grand Prix, click here to purchase in advance. Some lots are located some distance from the circuit and free shuttles are offered (park and ride service). For parking enquiries, phone +1 (305) 943-7275. Parking lots opening times for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix: Friday (May 3) at 10:30, Saturday (May 4) at 09:00 and on Sunday (May 5) at 09:30. In addition to official parking lots, unofficial lots are also located within the vicinity of the Hard Rock Stadium, but you are parking in such lots at your own risk. Please note that if you want to get dropped off or picked up at the circuit by a friend or by a chartered vehicle, you will need to use one of the ride share lots listed below.
Ride Share Lots Within Walking Distance of Miami International Autodrome
- East: Lot 22 (695 NW 199 St. Miami, FL 33169). From Lot 22, walk to the circuit 1.4 miles to Gate 14B.
- North: Lot 35 (21001 NW 27th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33056). From Lot 35, walk a short distance to the circuit to Gate 8.
- South: Lot 43 (2775 NW 183rd St, Miami Gardens, FL 33056). From Lot 43, walk to the circuit 1.3 miles to Gate 3 or Gate 5
Ride Share Lots Near Miami International Autodrome with Shuttle Bus Services
- East: Brightline Aventura Station (19796 West Dixie Highway, Miami, Florida 33180). Shuttle bus service to/from Gate 3.
- North: Lot 70 (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood, FL 33314). Shuttle bus service to/from Gate 14.
- South: Lot 95 (16000 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33169). Shuttle bus service to/from Gate 3.
I’ll be bringing a group (10 people) to and from pompano beach to the formula one race at hard rock stadium all three days during the event …what exit off the turnpike should I take and what is the closest drop-off point to the track from that exit?

I’m not 100% sure on the best drop-off area, but you should be guided by traffic control once you get closer. Probably your guests will still have to walk some distance from drop off point to the stadium. You won’t be able to drop off too close to the entrance gates, I think.
