After tickets for the 2023 race sold out in just two days, the official seller’s allocation of tickets for the 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix sold out within 30 minutes of being available.

2025 marks the 10-year anniversary of the popular Mexican race re-joining the schedule after a 23-year absence. Race attendances have increased with every passing season, reaching a new weekend record of close to 405,000 in 2024. Ahead of the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, it stands as the third-best attended race of the season to date of those which have revealed official attendance figures, behind the British and Australian Grands Prix.
Sergio Perez is one of the driving factors behind the Mexican race’s ongoing popularity. After two successive years of home podiums in 2021 and 2022 – the first for a Mexican driver in Formula 1 history – Perez crashed out at Turn 1 in front of his home crowd in 2023 and suffered a lacklustre driver to 17th in 2024. His immediate future at the Red Bull team may be in doubt but the partisan crowd will be hoping that Perez can retain his seat and return to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for a better showing in 2025!

F1 to Race in Mexico Until at Least 2025
The Mexico City Grand Prix will remain until 2025 following the signing of a new contract between the local government and Formula 1 just ahead of the 2022 race weekend. Circuit bosses have recently said that doubts over Sergio Perez’s future on the grid do not affect their hopes of retaining a spot on the F1 calendar.
In addition to Formula 1, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez also hosts Formula E’s annual Mexico City E-Prix. The 2025 Mexico City E-Prix will be the second round of the series’ 11th season in January. The venue is also set to host NASCAR for the first time in 2025 and talks continue over the possibility of the IndyCar series visiting the track in the near future.
