Formula 1 has revealed its 2025 calendar, which will begin in Australia on March 16 and conclude in Abu Dhabi on December 7.
The FIA and Formula 1 have confirmed the 2025 Formula 1 calendar. Next year’s season will include 24 rounds, with all 24 races from the 2024 season appearing once again on next year’s schedule.
The season begins in Australia, with the opening section of the calendar looking slightly different to 2024 as a result of the timing of Ramadan. Due to the holy period of observation, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix move from March to April on the 2025 calendar.
The European season begins at Imola with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on May 18, with Formula 1 then following a similar route to its 2024 calendar for the remainder of 2025.
After three Saturday races in 2024, the Las Vegas Grand Prix – on November 22 – will be the only race in 2025 not to take place on a Sunday.

Australia Returns as Season-Opener
For the first time since 2019, the Australian Grand Prix returns to its traditional position as the season-opening Grand Prix. This year’s Melbourne race, which was won by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, attracted a record weekend attendance of 452,000. Next year’s race will be a highly anticipated affair, with the event marking Lewis Hamilton’ first appearance as a Ferrari driver.
The 2025 season begins later than in 2024 and the calendar is slightly more compact than the 2024 schedule as a result. Next year’s 24 races will take place over a period of 266 days – two weeks fewer than in 2024.
Unlike in 2024, there will be no ‘Autumn Break’ in 2025. The new month-long gap has been implemented during the 2024 season between the Singapore Grand Prix in September and the United States Grand Prix in October to ease the workload on travelling team members.
Another minor change to the schedule sees the Hungarian Grand Prix return to its former position as the last race before the summer break. The place had been occupied by the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in recent seasons. The Spa race will instead take place one week before the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2025.
Formula 1’s 75th Anniversary Season
The 2025 season marks Formula 1’s 75th anniversary. The sport’s CEO Stefano Domenicali reflected on the milestone year when talking about the release of the new calendar:
“2025 will be a special year as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship, and it’s that legacy and experience that allows us to deliver such a strong calendar. Once again, we’ll visit 24 incredible venues around the world, delivering top class racing, hospitality, and entertainment, which will be enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide.
“We’re grateful to the FIA, our promoters, host city partners, and all the related ASNs for their commitment and support in delivering this schedule and securing what promises to be another fantastic year for Formula 1. I would also like to pay tribute to our F1 teams and drivers, the heroes of our sport, and our fans around the world for continuing to follow Formula 1 with such incredible enthusiasm.”
In addition to the 24 races already announced for 2025, it is also expected that there will be another six F1 Sprint rounds next year. The locations for the Sprint events will be announced later in the year, most likely after the 2024 season comes to an end.
