How to Buy Tickets for the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix

Your guide to buying tickets for the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix 2025. The best grandstands & F1 hospitality at Shanghai International Circuit.

The Shanghai circuit has a stadium layout similar to the Hockenheimring; there’s only a limited selection of grandstands, but they are all raised well above the catch fencing and offer great panoramic views over large sections of the track. The huge Main Grandstand opposite the pits seats up to 29,000 spectators and the total capacity for the circuit including the four large general admission areas is a sizeable 200,000. The last time Formula 1 race in China in 2019, the race was a sell out due to the 1000th Formula 1 race celebrations.

Tickets for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix were the cheapest available on the 2024 F1 calendar (read the 2024 ticket price ranking). Tickets were also in very high demand due to the fact that the race had not been held since 2019. Zhou Guanyu also became the first local driver to compete at his home race in 2024. The official promoter of the race is Jiushi Sports (official ticket site for the race). In 2024, tickets were available to purchase via the Jiushi Sports APP, or via “Jiushi Sports APP” WeChat applet and Alipay applet. In 2024, China also became the first race to use facial recognition for circuit and grandstand entry.

Tickets for the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix are expected to go on sale soon. Prices are similar to 2024. We are expecting to get an allocation of tickets via our supplier. Be sure to join our mailing list (check the box for China) for ticket updates.

F1 Experiences Ticket Packages

Access to the exclusive Formula 1 Paddock Club hospitality suite is already on sale for the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix via F1 Experiences. 3-day prices start from $5,500 USD, which is very affordable pricing for the Paddock Club when compared to other races on the 2025 F1 calendar. Legend Ticket Packages with Paddock Club hospitality and additional perks such as one-day access to the F1 Paddock are also available. Grandstand ticket packages will be going on sale soon. Chinese Grand Prix Tickets: Need to Know

  • All tickets are sold for 3 days (single-day tickets are not available)
  • The Main, H & K grandstands are covered. Most sections of the new Grandstand B are not covered. Neither are the General Admission areas. Rain is a distinct possibility at the Chinese race, so be prepared if you’ve chosen the cheaper General Admission tickets.
  • All grandstands have views of at least one big screen TV, whilst the General Admission areas do not.
  • Discounted tickets for children are available in all grandstands

Grandstand A (Main Grandstand)

The vast Main grandstand (Grandstand A) runs almost the entire length of the start/finish straight and is separated into 17 sections, the lower numbered sections are closer to the final corner and the higher numbered sections are closer to the first corner. Grandstand A is also separated into sections according to height, with the lower seats in sections A and B, the higher seats in sections C and D. Ticket prices for this grandstand are cheaper in the lower sections (A & B) than the higher sections (C & D). There is further price differentiation with the high seats in the middle of the grandstand – best for viewing the pits and starting grid – known as Platinum (check map here).

The views from most parts of Grandstand A are good, but especially in the higher sections. In our opinion, the best seats are in A17C/D, which is the section at the top and closest to Turn 1. Seats in this section also offer views of the opening corners – see main image above.

Grandstand B

This is a new grandstand that was constructed before the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, replacing a General Admission area. The best seats in Grandstand B are in the lower numbered sections on the approach to the first corner (see video above), which also provide excellent down the main straight and across to Turn 3. The seats at the other end of Grandstand B are set back a long way from the circuit and don’t offer the best views. The video view from Grandstand B is displayed above this text and images are below.

Grandstand H

An affordable grandstand located on the approach to the Turn 14 hairpin. Sections are number from H1 to H12, with A being the lower seats and B the higher seats (check map here). The best seats are located closest to Turn 14 in sections H12A and H12B. At the other end of the grandstand, sections H1 and H2 offer distant views of the final corner and home straight. The downside of Grandstand H is that it is located some distance from the main fanzone behind Grandstand A. Food and drink stalls are located behind Grandstand H, which also has it’s own circuit entrance (check in 9 on the map). The video view from Grandstand H is displayed above this text and images are below.

Grandstand K

Grandstand K is another affordable and recommended grandstand which is located on the exit of the Turn 14 hairpin and directly opposite Grandstand H. The sections are numbered from K1 to K12, with A seats in the lower part of the grandstand and B seats in the higher part of the grandstand (check map here). The best views are closest to the Turn 14 hairpin in sections K1-K3. Whilst the views are similar, we recommend Grandstand K over Grandstand H because it’s closer to the main fan zone. The video view from Grandstand K is displayed above this text and images are below.

General Admission (Zones C, F, J, L)

There are four General Admission Zones at the Shanghai circuit (Zones C, F, J, L – check the map). The pick of these is the fairly small Zone J, which is situated on the outside of the Turn 14 hairpin, between Grandstands H and K. This is one of the best overtaking spots on the circuit, and the views here are also great for amateur photographers. Nearby is the similarly small Zone L, which is situated between the final corner and the start of the Main Grandstand, but doesn’t offer particularly good views. There are also two larger General Admission zones at Shanghai International Circuit. Zone C (see video above) runs between Turns 4-6 and Zone F is further along the back straight past Grandstand H.

    1. Hi Jaco, yes there is a family ticket available for Grandstand A+ (high and low). It includes an adult ticket and one child up to the age of 16 years. The price is $273 USD for high ticket and $244 for low ticket (both for 3 days). You can buy HERE.

  1. Is there anyway you can book a particular area/seat within a section like you can at the Malaysian seeping circuit?
I’m trying to book A+ High seats in section 6 or 10 which are as close to A High Platinum. But whichever site I look at just give as a general A+ High section 4-14. Hope you can help?

    1. Hi Rich

do you have a seating Map . . I now have my tickets but would like to know where I am.. I have searched but cannot find anything

      1. Hi Shane, I was wondering the same thing. Did you find a seating map? I got tickets for A High and received section A.1c. Do you know which section is it? Close to turn 1 or entering the pits?

  2. Alexandra Jimenez

Hi Richi! I would like to know what kind of ticket do you recommend for Shanghai GP, Grandstand A+ high or Grandstand A+ Platinum??

      1. Great, booked my flights yesterday…so finally waiting for the Tickets to go on sale!
Follow ypur great work on every platform, it definitely makes every F1 trip perfect;)

  3. Tickets are on sale but the platinum class of tickets for the main straight grandstand are missing from goo tickets and also the F1 website. Would you know when these will be available?

    1. Hi Albert, the response from the tickets company: “I’ve asked my team and the reason why for China, the Platinium Grandstand is not available is because it has been removed temporarily from sales, as the Lounge access is not included in the ticket anymore. Instead, there will be a goodie bag. It will be back online for sales and everything is settled, but we don’t know when exactly for now.”

  4. Hi Andrew,
really informative articles and great to read you take the time to reply to so many enquiries.

My family and i will be in Shanghai on the Friday 12th April but departing on Saturday. I understand the 3 Day ticket packages but is there any way you can think of where we can access for the Friday only for practice etc.?
    Cheers, Alex

    1. Hi Alex, there are no single-day tickets to buy as far as I’m aware. What I suggest doing is buying the cheapest 3-day General Admission ticket (62 EUR). China operates a “Free Friday” policy, so you can sit anywhere you want – including all the grandstands – on Friday. This is still a pretty good deal I think.

  5. How can I get an E ticket as I’m travelling to China on 31st March 2019.so won’t be home to except delivery by DHL that they say happens 7-10 days prior to event?

      1. Hope it will work tomorrow.
Just go back from circuit, still everything under construction. The whole ticket office was closed today. Would have been great if I would have got my ticket already today.

By the way: Looks like that atograph session is once again for Chinese fans only.

  6. Hi,
Earlier in the week there were some family tickets available for H & K stands, but don’t see those anymore. Will they be back again?

    1. Information from ticket agent: « We closed this category for now as it was unclear for clients what was included or not with these tickets.
We will keep you posted as soon as we re-open it » I will email you when it’s available again

      1. Hi Andrew,
From your experience, do you expect these tickets to come back? Don’t want to keep waiting, and then miss out completely.
        Thanks,

        Jurgen

  7. Hi All, Now that all ticket’s are sold out. Does anyone have any recommendation of other legit websites I can purchase ticket’s from? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

  8. Elizabeth Cope

I am also in desperate need of 2 tickets. I cannot believe they have sold out. 3 weeks ago there were plenty. Do they release more later on or is there a resell site?

  9. Great site. Stupidly, I missed out on the sale of these tickets. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy site to buy tickets from now it has sold out?

    Thanks.

  10. Guillermo Monroy

Hello, I know that probably is too late, however, is there any possibility to have tickets for this grand prix in China??
I am from Mexico and will be there and I really want to attend the race.
Could you help me, I need tow tickets.
    Thanks in advance.

  11. As this is race number 1000 are there any events happening in and around the track such as concerts, exibits or driver meet and greet sessions etc?

  12. Rebecca Devries

I purchased a weekend ticket and an F1 experience package for the race in Shanghai but we had to cancel our trip to China.
Any idea how to safely resell these tickets? Is it possible to resell the experience package?

  13. Hi. Interested in Shanghai GP Gold tickets. Preferably 15th or 16th section. If anyone got some for sale please contact me.

  14. Pip Naumovski

Hi wanting Grand Prix tickets x2 in Shanghai

Travelling from Australia can anybody please help
    Up to $3000 combined total

  15. I don’t believe this is a scam site. Your comment also doesn’t make sense – you say you purchased with Paypal, then that you are disputing the payment with your credit card. I suggest you try and buy at the circuit, but obviously you will need to be careful of counterfeit tickets.

    1. No idea. At present, there are still many doubts that this race will even happen next April. This is due to the Zero-COVID policy that China is still pursuing. Many F1 insiders say the race won’t happen in April 2023.

    1. Hello, I honestly don’t know. My ticket company said they will not get any more. You have to remember that there was HUGE demand from local market. They haven’t had a race for five years and now they also have a Chinese driver on the grid. I think it’s all sold out, which means you may have to look at the secondary market – like StubHub and Viagogo – but I haven’t checked prices or anything there.

  16. This is so sad to me, flip we want to attend so badly.
I will already be there for work so I have extended my trip and then my husband fly’s up so we can go watch the F1 race.
Are those 2 sites reliable for buying ‘2nd hand’ ?? We’re flying through from South Africa and this would be our 1st (hopefully) F1 we attend so just don’t want to be scammed.
Really hoping some more tickets open up.. Just confused cause if you go on the Official F1 page it says that the ticket sales is yet to open.. so not sure if they’re keeping some to sell?

Ai we so badly want to go haha

    1. Hi Joranda, I feel for you and everyone else that has missed out on tickets for the race in Shanghai this year. I think the demand was extremely high from locals, which makes sense because the race hasn’t been held for 5 years, and now there is a Chinese driver on the grid… Anyway, my ticket company only gave us 30 tickets and these sold out very quickly. We won’t get more from the circuit/promoter, and I don’t know if they will issue more or not. F1 Tickets never went on sale, and I don’t know if they will. Yes, it is true given all of this information that you will have to be careful not to be scammed. I will try to do some more research and find some legitimate sources of tickets, though the prices are of course likely to be quite high.

      1. Hi Andrew
Yes I can only imagine and I think it’s going to be an amazing race for China!!
Have you by any chance been able to find out some more on the resale tickets??

Thanks so much for all the help so far :)
        Joranda

  17. I waited so long until the ticket was opened on the official website. But the tickets are not open.
When will the tickets be open on the official website? I have to buy a children’s ticket, but I can’t because the ticket won’t open. When will the tickets be open? I really want to go to the Grand Prix..

    1. I don’t work for F1 Tickets, you will have to ask them. However, I think it is possible that they didn’t get any tickets and thus will not open the ticket shop for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix. I’m sorry, but you need to look at other sources for tickets, like the official China outlet, Juss Sports.
