Tickets – 2025 Canadian Grand Prix

Your guide to the best grandstands and hospitality suites at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix

After not being held for two years during the pandemic, F1 fans have returned in a big way for the last three editions of the Canadian Grand Prix, with record crowds attending in 2024, despite the challenging weather conditions. Increased interest in Formula 1 in North America, coupled with affordable prices compared to the races in the USA means that demand for tickets at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is expected to remain very high in 2025. We recommend securing your access as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Canada remains one of the more affordable races to attend on the entire F1 calendar, especially for those traveling from the USA. Offering close proximity to the lively city of Montreal, affordable tickets and the prospect of exciting racing, the Canadian Grand Prix remains popular for a reason. On the downside, the weather at recent editions of the race has been poor, with lots of rain and cooler temperatures. There were also complaints this year about the race organization, especially for fans entering and leaving the circuit.

Where to Buy Canadian Grand Prix Tickets?

  • We recommend buying your tickets for the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix from our trusted supplier Grand Prix Tickets. GPT is an official sales agent for the race and tickets come direct from the promoter. When purchasing more than one ticket in the same transaction, you will be sat together.
  • We also recommend F1 Experiences Ticket Packages. Choose from grandstand seats or premium all-inclusive hospitality in the Champions Club and Formula 1 Paddock Club, plus exclusive trackside activities and accommodation/transfers.

Track Hospitality Suites & F1 Experiences Packages

  • Circuit Hospitality: A range of affordable hospitality tickets are available in Canada with good trackside views and hospitality, some of which including assigned grandstand seats. The best hospitality can be found in the Elite Club on the outside of the track between the start line and the opening corners. From the cheaper hospitality options available, Terrace CGV is recommended for excellent views of the Senna Curve.
  • F1 Experiences Packages: Formula 1’s official travel and experience partner offers both grandstand and hospitality packages for the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. F1 Experiences Live packages include grandstand seating and entry to a special event on the track with pit lane walk and guided track tour. A range of all-inclusive hospitality options are also available, including the Champions Club Rouge and Blanc suites, both of which are really close to the track. The pick of these is the larger, two-level Blanc suite with exceptional views of the track from the final corner (see first image below). Exclusive Paddock Club and F1 Garage hospitality is not yet on sale for 2025.

Grandstand 1

Grandstand 1 is located on the main start/finish straight, opposite the pits. These seats are good for first timers and anyone who wants to watch the action in the pits, plus the race build up and podium celebrations. If you are after on-track action, choose seats in the opening Senna Chicane instead. F1® Experiences Live | Grandstand 1 packages include a 3-day reserved seat in Grandstand 1 plus exciting Thursday activities at the track

Senna Curves Grandstands

The two grandstands on the outside of the Senna curve offer some of the best viewing opportunities at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. There is always lots of action at this corner, particularly at the start of the race. If you get a good seat, you will be able to see the cars from the start finish line up until they disappear around turn 3. We recommend choosing a seat as close to the other grandstand as possible – low section numbers for Stand 11, high section numbers for Stand 12. This gives you the best view of the main straight while also providing a very good view down to turn 3.

Grandstand 11

The high section numbers in Grandstand 11 can have their views obstructed by the trees inside the Senna curve, so it’s better to choose a low section number in this stand. F1® Experiences Live | Grandstand 11 packages include a 3-day reserved seat in Grandstand 11 plus exciting Thursday activities at the track

Grandstand 12

The low section numbers in Grandstand 12 can have views obstructed by the hospitality suites – if you choose a low section in Grandstand 12, get a high row seat so you will see all the action.

Platine Grandstand

We also recommend seats in the Platine Grandstand on the inside of the opening corners. Platine is the only covered grandstand at the circuit and always sells out quickly despite being the highest priced grandstand in Canada.

Hairpin Grandstands

The grandstands on the hairpin are a good choice and the ‘stadium atmosphere’ is awesome. Given the choice, we’d buy a seat in Grandstand 15, which gives the best front-on views of this important corner. Bonus at the end of the day: the hairpin grandstands are the closest to the metro station.

Grandstand 15

Grandstand 15 faces the hairpin so all the action is in front of you and it is possible to see a long way down the entry and exit straights. It is however separated from the track by a gravel trap, so you are a bit further away from the action and noise.

Grandstand 21

Closest to the metro station, Grandstand 21 is situated on the entry to the chicane. Views from the lower rows, which are very close to the track, are limited by the new catch fencing. Higher rows in this stand have unobstructed views but are further from the track.

Lance Stroll Grandstand

Lance Stroll Grandstand (previously known as Grandstand 24) is very close to the track and offers great views as the cars accelerate out of the chicane. Food stalls and proper toilets are located right behind this grandstand. F1® Experiences Flyer | Lance Stroll Packages include a reserved 3-day seat in the Lance Stroll grandstand plus exciting trackside activities on Thursday.

Grandstand 34

Located in the middle of the hairpin, Grandstand 34 is an affordable stand with good views. Get in quick as this grandstand always sells out quickly.

Family Grandstand

The Family Grandstand (previously Grandstand 33) is located on the outside of Turn 6. We recommend seats in the lower section numbers, which give you a better view of the approach than higher section numbers.

Grandstand 31

Grandstand 31 on Turn 9 is set back a long way from the circuit proper , and you don’t get to see the cars for as long as at the Senna Chicane or the hairpin, but it is still decent value. Worth considering. F1® Experiences Live | Grandstand 31 Ticket packages include a 3-day reserved seat in Grandstand 31 plus insider activities on Thursday.

Grandstand 46

Grandstand 46 (previously know as the Popular grandstand) is one of the worst positioned grandstands at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, but also one of the cheapest. Single-day tickets are also available, unlike in most other grandstands. Views of the hairpin are obstructed by trees. For those who know the track, there is a small left kink after the hairpin. If there has been a lot of rain, there can be standing water in this area and it tends to catch out a lot of drivers, particularly in the support categories – the Popular Grandstand provides the best views of the action which can ensue. Grandstand 46 now has a large TV screen opposite.

General Admission at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

General admission tickets for the Canadian Grand Prix are cheap, but don’t offer the best viewing opportunities. The circuit is known for its long straights and slow corners, and grandstands take up the best viewing spots. This means that General Admission ticket holders either need to find a spot “packed like sardines” between the grandstands or watch the cars scream past on the straights.

There is more room to move in General Admission on Friday, before bigger crowds turn up on the weekend for qualifying and the race. There are decent vantage points close to some grandstands, but you need to get there early to secure your spot. Either side of grandstand 24 is raised and fills up quickly. There is also space between and in front of Grandstands 11 & 12. The straight behind grandstand 31 provides shaded viewing, but doesn’t offer big screen viewing.

I want to buy 3 Senna trio tickets for the 3 days at the Canadian grand prix. Not seeing how to do that on your sight?

  2. Chris Caselli

I’ve been looking at tickets as three of us are going this year but only Sunday. We don’t want to do the popular grandstand. I’ve found multiple sites that are selling single day tickets for most grandstands. How is this possible? On the F1 website only three days passes are available for those grandstands.

    1. Hi Chris, I would be very careful about buying Sunday-only tickets for anything other than General Admission or the Popular Grandstands. They are not official and there is the chance you will not get what you pay for. From the Circuit website: “Tickets to the Event are strictly non transferable and not for resale.” The only exception would be for some corporate areas, where you can purchase single-day access. To avoid any hassles, I would just pay up for the full 3-day ticket to your chosen grandstand and purchase from a legitimate source; from the official seller (Admission.com/Ticketmaster) or from a reseller such as BookF1, Gootickets or GPTicketshop – see the links on our sidebar. Enjoy the weekend in Montreal!

  3. Above it mentions picking a high section in grandstand 12. How do I know what the different sections are?

    1. Hi Sue, from the guide, “In larger stands, the front row, closest to the track, is designated AA and the second row is BB. After the 26th row (ZZ), the next row is designated A and so on. In smaller stands such as grandstand 21, the front row closest to the track is row A.”

          1. Hi there, trying to find a seating chart online. Would like to see if section 11, row x, seat 3 has an unobstructed view…

  4. Hi,

Can we do in and out of the venue in a single day?I have a ticket for saturday and have some important work in the afternoon. so can i leave and then come back again?

    Thanks

    1. Hi, sorry we don’t have specific information to answer this question. It should be possible to get a pass-out, but please ask when you have your ticket checked in the morning as you enter. Have a great weekend!

  5. Do you recommend attendees buy a lanyard for their tickets? Is there a need to have the ticket always out and available?

    1. Hi Willa, you don’t have to purchase a lanyard if you don’t wish. You normally only need to show your ticket when you are entering the track or entering your grandstand area inside. Some people like to buy the official lanyard as a momento, but you could always buy a cheaper one. Enjoy!

      1. You can leave and re enter the track, but have to get your ticket scanned when you leave. If you don’t get it scanned at the gate when leaving, you may not get back in.

  6. Hi

I’ll be getting tickets soon for grandstand 11 and want to get decent seats in this grandstand, but can’t find anywhere to choose my section number. How can I do this, as you’ve mentioned in your article?

    1. Hi Simon, the best way to get the seats you want is to call the ticket company directly. That should apply with buying via the circuit itself, or the ticket companies we deal with, who have an allocation of tickets for each grandstand. Good luck and enjoy the race.

  7. Hi. Looking at tickets for Montreal 2016 and wondering if there’s a similar ticket to the GA Premium pass that you can get in Melbourne? That pass ticks all the boxes for trackside viewing and easy access to a bar for drinks. Is there anything similar at F1 Montreal?

    1. Hi Daryll, unfortuanately theres’s nothing like a premium GA ticket in Montreal. It’s either GA for $127 (3 days) or a grandstand seat (Popular is cheapest at $175 for 3 days). There are corporate tickets, but the cheapest of these – Privileged 12 on the Senna Curve – cost over $1200 CAD for 3 days. You get bar access and a free BBQ lunch. You can buy these with bookF1

  8. Hello Chris, Im planing to buy 3 days tickets, but I want to attend only during the race.
Is there any chance to re – sale the rest of the tickets legally thru a website like stubhub?
sorry to insist if you already explain before that the tickets are in-transferable but thats the only way that I can afford stand 15 for all the family :)

  9. Catherine Timm

Hi, I’m flying in from New York and would like to know what time the event starts on Friday and when it finishes on Sunday to book my flight around that, Please advise, thanks!

  10. Can you buy general admission on the day of the Friday practice and qualifications for the 2016 Montreal Grand Prix? We are not avid race fans and want to be able to walk around and get a few for the race weekend while we are in town.

  11. Hello,
My father has followed F1 since his childhood. I am taking him to the Canadian GP. However, he has Parkinsons and has trouble walking long distances. Is there an area near the circuit for handicapped parking? Any advice on this one would be great.
    Thanks
    James

    1. Hi James, you can find more information here. “Grandstands 21a and 41a are adapted for limited-mobility spectators. Buying a ticket in one of these grandstands also gives you access to nearby parking”. Hope you and your father enjoy the race!

  12. Hi,

I would like to buy 3 tickets for Jun 11 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX.
I would like to buy specific sits Grandstand 11 section 1-2 or 3.
How can i find tickets for these sections? On the web i have no option to choose from.

    Please advice in your convenience.

    Best,

    Marin

    1. Hi Marin, if you purchase through Gootickets, who we recommend, then you cannot choose specific sections – make a request in your booking and they will try to accommodate your request. I cannot comment on other ticket companies. Andrew

  13. Grandstand 1 & 2 are across from the pits. The Pit assignments are based on how the teams finished in the standings last year.

For 2018, Grandstand one section one will be in front of Mercedes, section three will be Ferrari, section 5 will be Red Bull………….

I like GS 1 & 2. Bring your binoculars lots of action all day long.

  14. Megan Nicholson

    Hi,

If you buy a 3-day ticket for say Grandstand 24, is that the only grandstand you can sit in all weekend? Or can you sit in other grandstands on the Friday/Saturday with your seat being reserved in Grandstand 24 for the Sunday (like at other circuits)?

    Thanks

  15. Hi – Do you know if section 47 is ok. Looking to purchase reasonably priced tickets just for Sunday. Don’t want Gen Adm. but don’t see anything else within budget. Never been so any info you could provide would be great. Thanks

  16. hello, I am looking to buy 4 tickets for 3 days, is it guaranteed that the seta will be next to one another? as it says only the Grandtstand number and section 1,2,3….

    1. Hi Diana, if you buy the 4 tickets in one transaction, they will be together. To be sure, leave a comment when you purchase to confirm this.

  17. Hi,
I am looking for grandstand 11 and 12 for the weekend. At the moment, your recommendation (low rows in 11 and high rows in 12) is currently sold out. From what is available, do you recommend the high rows (5,6,7) in Section 11 or the low rows (1,2,3,4) in section 12?

  18. Have purchased 3-day pass (Grandstand 47 – Row FF) 8-tickets for GP a few days ago from etickets.ca Can anyone temme where the exact location is, and how the view is?

  19. Hi,
I’m looking at Montreal grandprix on June 9th. One of the tickets for sale is for section: grandstand 1 and row: ga
There is no seat information on the website. Do you know what kind of seat is this? Is there a reserved seats or does GA mean standing only. But this is in grandstand 1..so I’m confused

  20. Stephanie Dominguez

Do children need a ticket? I have a 3 year old toddler. The Mexican Grand Prix did not require one.

    Thanks,
    Stephanie

    1. Hi Stephanie, your child will need a ticket for the grandstand. But if you are in General Admission, you can bring him/her in for free.

  21. Hi, do you know where the track invasion entrances are at the end of the Grand Prix for when the fans enter the track?
    Thank you.

    1. Not 100% sure, sorry Robert. Normally they are at either end of the start-finish straight. Ask around earlier in the weekend, plenty of people (or marshals, track workers) will be able to give you the lowdown on this.

  22. Hey! Do you have any idea on what date/time the tickets for the Montreal 2021 GP are going to be available for sale ? Thanks:)

    1. Sorry Joud, I do not. There is actually some doubt about whether the race will actually go ahead this year given current travel and COVID-19 restrictions. We should know more in the next 1-2 weeks.

    1. Yes, you can – I’m not 100% sure on the exact rules for Canada, but for most races there’s a limit on long lenses (no more than 200mm). It doesn’t mean you won’t get in with a longer one, but it could be a problem.

  23. Is the F1 Experience package the best way to book hotel and ticket for 3 days for a family of 4. First time going and would like to be in Grandstand 1. Afraid to wait and not get ticket.

    1. Hi Kenneth, right now it’s the only way to guarantee access. Assume you are talking about the F1 Ticket + Hotel packages from F1 Experiences? I do know there will be a new product very soon with the ticket + hotel + transfers to the circuit if that’s something you’d be interested in. I don’t know much about pre-sale via the circuit, but I’m guessing there will be big demand for the race as it hasn’t happened since 2019. Feel free to email me directly as I do also work for F1 Experiences.

  24. Hi, I have 18 month old child. I plan on buying non-family grandstand ticket. Do I need to pay for the child’s ticket as well?

  25. Hello, is the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix still a 4 day event (Thursday Open House/Pit Walk, Friday Practice, Saturday Qualify, Sunday Race Day)? Or is it being reduced to a three day event (Friday-Sunday)? Thank you kindly in advance.

    1. We don’t yet know the answer to that question Vincent. Hopefully the Open House will still happen on Thursday this year, but we need to wait for official confirmation either way.

  26. When is the best time to purchase the tickets? I tried at beginning of March and everything was sold out. Even the general admission 🤷🏻‍♂️

    1. You were too late for the 2022 Canadian GP, sorry. Tickets sold very quickly this year – remember the race wasn’t held for the past 2 years. If you don’t want to pay very high prices on the secondary market, you will need to wait until next year.

  27. Hi Andrew, appreciate all the info here. very helpful. What site(s) would you recommend for trustworthy secondary tickets?

    1. Honestly, this is a new phenomenon for us with tickets selling out so fast. I don’t really like recommending secondary sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats as the prices are so much higher and there’s a bigger chance of a scam. But I guess you have no choice right now with buying from such sites.

      1. Ok understood, thank you. Agree does not feel great to spend that kind of money and be unsure if it’s legit traveling to the GP. Do you have any info or advice on remaining ticket packages that come more directly from Formula 1? I’m trying to get in touch with F1 Experiences but no luck yet.

  28. Hello Andrew, I was desperate to get tickets for the Canadian grand prix but they were all gone by the time I checked. I saw a few spots opened up today on here and was able to grab two tickets in grandstand 16. However, I couldn’t find any videos on this particular grandstand. Is it one of the new grandstands you wrote about in an earlier comment? I attended in 2017 and sat in grandstand 15 which is quite a nice location in my opinion. I am Canadian so was pretty bummed about not being able to get tickets so I grabbed what I could have gotten my hands on. I mean for the price, I’d assume it’s a decent location. I paid $980 not including the service charge but anything you can add on this grandstand would be greatly appreciated. I chose to buy from your recommendation this year because of the wonderful service received last year when I bought tickets for the Italian (Monza) race when max took out my boy Lewis (my opinion). Lolll. But thanks again for such an amazing site. I had a great time at Monza despite my team not winning. I look forward to hearing anything you may be able to share on grandstand 16.

    Thanks
    Marsha

    1. Hi Marsha, thanks for the kind comments! Yes, Grandstand 16 is a new one so we don’t really have much information about this one. It should be a good location on the Main Straight, opposite the pits.

  29. Hi Andrew – thanks for all the helpful information on your site. WRT to the MTL F1, I am hearing rumours that they are reducing capacity. Have you heard anything? Also if so, I bought my tickets from your partner website, GPT, and am wondering if my tickets are safe from cancellation. Thanks in advance!

  30. Michael o keeffe

Hi Andrew, myself and 5 friends are going to the Canadian GP in a few weeks and we are really excited for it. We just have general admission tickets and I saw that you recommended trying to get areas near grandstands 11, 12 or 24, that they seem to be the best. I am just wondering if you have any other recommendations?

    1. No specific recommendations. Are you going for all three days? As there will be less fans around on Friday, this is a good day to explore the circuit and to check out the different vantage points in General Admission. When you find a spot you like, I recommend trying to get there early on Saturday and Sunday to reserve your place!

  31. How early would we need to get to the track to secure a good General Admissions spot? I thought I saw that race day, the gates open at 8am but the race doesn’t start until 2pm.

  32. Simmonds Mathews

Attending our first F1 race (Canadian). Would you know if the F1 app provides live commentary or is FM the only way to hear the commentary? Also are folding bleacher seat with a back rest allowed on the grandstands? Thans

    1. Yes, the F1 app does provide live commentary – but I think you need the pro version rather than the free version to get the commentary. Yes, you are able to take your folding seat into the circuit, and should be allowed to use it in the grandstand.

  33. Hi, thanks for the informative article. Everywhere I read that GA tickets aren’t the best tickets.. I have one for sunday. On the F1 site I can read that you have access to the General Admission areas but I can’t find a great overview where does are. And do you know if you can walk around the circuit with just GA tickets? Thanks in Advance!

    1. GA is not the best, but you will still be able to soak up all the atmosphere of race day in Montreal. I’d try to get there early, as the GA areas are small and will fill up quickly, especially at the best spots. Yes, you can walk around the circuit and check out the different fanzones and spectator areas. The best GA viewing is probably at the hairpin, but not much room to get a good view.

  34. Fernando Cantillo

    Hi Andrew,
I’ve been looking for tickets since last year but they appear to sell really fast.
Do you know when exactly in the year they are on sale for the next race (to be the firsts)? And right now what is the best website to buy tickets.
Thanks in advance I love your website.

    1. Hi, Canada tickets went on sale quite early this year – soon after this year’s edition of the race. You are too late for our tickets. We only have a couple of single ticket left. Unfortunately, the official site (GPcanada.ca) sold out very quickly this year. You may have some luck with other official resale sites such as Gootickets, but I urge you to buy soon or they will also be sold out.

  35. Andrew,

I see there are Grandstand 12 3-day tickets available through your ticket shop. Do you have any idea where these tickets are located in the grandstand itself (i.e. row/section area)? Only looking for a single seat.

I know you guys suggest avoiding low section numbers since they are blocked by the hospitality tents. Looks like Grandstand 12 are some of the best seats in the house. I’m for sure willing to wait another year if it means getting better seats. I was surprised to see new tickets, especially in Grandstand 12, became available since things sold out so quickly.

    Kind regards,

    Joe Vozzelli

    1. I can’t confirm exact location at the moment, and we only have one ticket left. So I suggest taking the risk. You can make a request for particular section after purchase, and GPT will try to accommodate your request based on their allocation.

    1. Honestly, we don’t normally recommend buying from resellers unless really necessary. I don’t have personal experience, but if you have to go down this route (which you probably do for the 2023 Canadian GP), then you should be fine with stubhub, viagogo, these kind of sites. The prices are very high, but you should be protected in case of any kind of fraud

  36. Hi Andrew I just want to confirm that we can bring folding bleacher seats to set in grandstand 12. As I understand it the bleachers are very uncomfortable at this track. Back support would be nice. Thank you for your help

  37. I have GA tickets for Sunday. Are there seats/bleachers in the GA areas? I’ve seen photos suggesting there are not. Can we bring food into the venue? Alcohol or other beverages?
I’m hoping to buy tickets for Saturday and I’ve seen GA tickets at different prices for different GA areas. Does that make sense? Isn’t one GA area the same as another – price wise at least?

    1. No seats, bleachers or viewing platforms in GA as far as I’m aware, unless something is going to change for 2023. You are no longer allowed to bring in alcoholic beverages, but food and other drinks are ok – just no glass containers/bottlers. More info is here: Trackside at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve – 2023 Canadian Grand Prix
Not sure where you are looking to purchase tickets for Saturday, but it’s my understanding that there is only one kind of GA ticket for the circuit. Due to GA tickets being sold out a long time ago, I am guessing that on resale platforms, the prices are much higher.

  38. Hi Andrew – sadly accepting the fact that tickets to this year’s race will cost a fortune. When do you think tickets for next year will go on sale and would you recommend buying through http://www.GPCanada.ca?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi George, you are too late for this year, as you know (though we did have reasonably priced tickets available until only 1-2 weeks ago). Tickets for 2023 went on sale early – in August last year. Expect similar timing for this year, though you may have to buy before the actual dates for 2024 are confirmed (probably in September). Yes GpCanada.ca is the official site and recommended to buy there if you can, especially as you can choose your actual seats there.

      1. Just a heads up, you can’t choose your seats on gpcanada.ca, atleast I couldn’t last year when I bought from them.

        The process last year was
        – Pick grandstand you want
        – Sit in virtual line. I got lucky and was like position 300/5000, after I bought the tickets I checked the line and it was at 25000 people waiting for that 1 grandstand queue.
        – Confirm and pay

Then you get an email and it automatically assigned me my seats.

  39. Hi Andrew,

Do you think you’ll be getting more tickets in any time soon? Would love to purchase from yous again, was great the last time I went. Hoping for a weekend ticket for grandstand 15, but would be happy with any seat in that area.

    Mark

  40. Hi Andrew,

I have tickets in Grandstand 1 for the CGP 2024. I am just curious if you know where the blocks of tickets for that grandstand usually are and when we will know where we’re sitting. I’ve put in a request to be sat in front of Checo’s garage (should be near podium – sections 3-5) and high enough up to see past obstructions. Do you think this will be attainable?

Thank you for being so polite and answering all of our questions.
