The F1 Exhibition is heading to the Austrian capital in 2024. Following on from its successful debut in Madrid – where it ran from March to August earlier this year – the innovative exhibition is now heading to METAStadt Vienna.

Such was its popularity, with thousands of Formula 1 fans flocking to IFEMA MADRID, the F1 Exhibition’s tenure in Madrid was extended several times. It wasn’t just fans enjoying the museum. Current F1 drivers Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly also made visits to the exhibition, with Sainz describing it as “an absolute must for F1 fans”.

Speaking about the latest location for the F1 Exhibition, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said:

Following the success of our first Formula 1 Exhibition in Madrid, we are incredibly excited to announce Vienna as the second host of the innovative show. Austria has a great history with Formula 1, so we are delighted to take this spectacle to the capital and provide fans in the country with another way of interacting and enjoying the sport’s rich history and heritage.”

The F1 Exhibition will open in Vienna on February 2, 2024 and is scheduled to run through to late spring.

About the F1 Exhibition

The F1 Exhibition was first announced in July 2022. It is set out across six rooms and is the result of five years worth of work and contributions from leading Formula 1 journalists, historians, engineers, artists and film makers.

In each of the six rooms, F1 fans will can an insight into the sport’s past, present and future. Complete with iconic cars from the sport’s history, never-before-seen artefacts, rare archive film footage and educational displays, the exhibition uses technology-led designs to provide an immersive experience for fans of all ages.

Among the artefacts previously on display are the remains of Romain Grosjean’s Haas car from his fiery accident at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, Pierre Gasly’s helmet which he wore on the day of his maiden F1 victory at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, plus Ayrton Senna’s notes on the Estoril circuit from his first race-winning weekend at the 1985 Portuguese Grand Prix.

Pre-Sale Tickets for the F1 Exhibition

General sale of tickets for F1 Exhibition in Vienna begins at 10:00 CET on Wednesday October 25. However, fans will have the opportunity to access pre-sale tickets from 10:00 CET on Monday October 23. Those hoping to secure pre-sale tickets must sign up via the ticketing website for exclusive pre-sale access.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced. When it was in Madrid, adult tickets for the F1 Exhibition were priced at €16, with discounts available for children and families.

The F1 Exhibition website suggests that further cities will soon be announced. You can sign up for updates via the website. London and Las Vegas are among the rumoured cities which the F1 Exhibition will be visiting in the near future.

The latter seems particularly likely, given that F1 purchased land in the city to house the pit and paddock complex for the new Las Vegas Grand Prix. The space will lie dormant when the Grand Prix is not taking place and would be a logical area for an exhibition.
