Where to Buy Formula 1 Tickets

After you have decided to go to an F1 race, choosing which ticket to buy – and where to buy it – is one of the key decisions you will need to make. Some race organizers handle their own ticket sales via an official channel (e.g. the circuit website), while others outsource their sales to ticket agencies. The quality of customer service, information on available tickets and purchase process can vary in efficiency, depending on the destination.

When buying from a ticket agency, you will generally pay a small premium over the official ticket price, but with better customer service and a more personal touch. You can also purchase tickets for multiple races from one source and build a long-term relationship. We’ve co-operated with several of the biggest and most reputable F1 ticket companies, all of whom supply tickets to all the races on the current Formula 1 calendar. Since 2020, we have been working exclusively with Grand Prix Tickets (GPT) for race tickets and F1 Experiences for hospitality and experience packages.

F1 Experiences

In early 2017, Formula 1 partnered with QuintEvents, a US-based event travel company, to launch F1 Experiences. The packages offered by F1 Experiences provide fans with benefits and access not available anywhere else, including paddock tours and exclusive meet-and-greets with the stars of Formula 1. Race tickets, all-inclusive hospitality in the Champions Club by F1 Experiences and Formula 1 Paddock Club are available. Hotel accommodation and daily circuit transfers are also offered as part of these exclusive packages. In 2023, Formula 1 announced the takeover of QuintEvents. Learn more about F1 Experiences

Grand Prix Tickets (GPT)

Based at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Grand Prix Tickets (GPT) is a leading global Formula 1 ticket agency. Founded by Christoph Amman, who also runs Formula 1 security contractor CAM Security, Grand Prix Tickets has been offering tickets to all events on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar since 1991. GPT is partnered with Formula One Management (FOM) and leading F1 teams such as Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull Racing. GPT’s call centre agents speak and write in German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. Learn more about Grand Prix Tickets

General Advice About Buying Formula 1 Tickets

Buy in advance! Tickets are going on sale earlier than ever, and tickets do sell out quickly for the most popular races on the calendar. The Formula 1 calendar is also being finalised earlier in the season, providing more certainly on buying tickets well in advance (the 2024 F1 calendar was announced in early July of 2023.) Normally, you will buy your Formula 1 ticket for the whole weekend (Friday-Sunday). This includes two F1 practice sessions on Friday, a third practice session and qualifying on Saturday, plus the race on Sunday. If you are restricted in either budget or time, it is possible to purchase either one day or two-day (weekend) tickets for most races on the current calendar.

Grandstand Formula 1 Tickets

Each race has a variety of different grandstands scattered around the track to choose from. Some grandstands are covered and provide protection from either the rain or the sun, whilst others are exposed to the elements – prices will reflect this. A good rule of thumb is to try and get a seat higher up in the grandstand – your view is likely to be more panoramic and less obstructed by the high trackside catch fencing. Even if you have bought a grandstand seat, you are also granted access to general admission viewing areas around the track. Many fans only use their seat for qualifying and the race itself, spending the rest of the time checking out the action from different vantage points around the circuit. Some races – Australia, Canada, Hungary and Austria, to name a few – offer grandstand ticket options which provide you with seats in different grandstands on each day of the event, a good choice if it’s your first visit to a race.

Every F1 race has large grandstands situated on the pit straight, which overlook the start/finish line and the team garages. You won’t see much on-track action, but these seats are a great place to immerse yourself in the world of Formula One. You will also be in a prime position to watch the race build up, start and podium celebrations at the end of the race. As a rule, the seats closer to the start/finish line will be more expensive than those further away. We also recommend grandstands that offer a view of both the first or last corner, and the pit straight.

General Admission Formula 1 Tickets

On a budget?  General admission tickets are the cheapest type available. They do not provide you with your own seat, just the right of entry to most parts of the circuit. The quality of general admission entry to races around the world is varied. Some races offer excellent raised viewing areas and bench seating, whilst others provide little in the way of either vantage points or creature comforts for fans. If you are buying a general admission ticket, be ready to walk a lot over the weekend. A certain level of general fitness is required, not to mention a comfortable pair of shoes. Champions Club Hospitality Tickets

Available at a more affordable price point than the Paddock Club, the Champions Club was launched by F1 Experiences in 2017 and is available at the majority of races on the current F1 calendar. Generally priced at between $3000-5000 for 3-day access, Champions Club hospitality suites are located either above the pits or next to some of the best corners. As well as all-inclusive meals and an open bar, Champions Club guests also benefit from a guided tour of the F1 Paddock (the highlight for many guests), exclusive guest appearances in the suite and the chance to go on the starting grid for a photo op. Champions Club access is available exclusively via F1 Experiences

Formula 1 Paddock Club Hospitality Tickets

The Formula 1 Paddock Club offers the most exclusive access to a Formula 1 event on race weekend. Situated directly above the pits, the Paddock Club provides an excellent view of pit activity, pit stops and the start of the race. Along with full catering and an open bar, Paddock Club pass holders are also entitled to daily pit-lane walks and access to the support race paddock. 3-Day Access to the F1 Paddock Club is priced from $5,000 USD at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, though at most races in 2024 you’ll be paying at least $6,000-8,000 USD. Paddock Club Ticket Packages are available from our partner F1 Experiences

F1 Garage Hospitality Tickets

Launched in 2022, the F1 Garage is Formula 1’s most exclusive VVIP hospitality product. As the name suggests, this suite is actually housed in an actual garage box in the pit lane. Available at selected races, F1 Garage tickets will set you back at least $25,000 USD. What do you get for this price? Entrance to the super exclusive garage hospitality suite alongside high net worth individuals, celebrities and business leaders, where you’ll enjoy gourmet cuisine and an open bar. You’ll be joined by special guests such as legendary F1 drivers, and be able to visit the F1 Paddock, the backstage area of Formula 1, at your leisure.

Other perks include access to the Formula 1 Paddock Club, the chance to go on the grid before the start of support races, daily pit lane walks and an up-close view of the post-race podium ceremony. Currently available at the following races in 2024: Saudi Arabia, USA (Miami), Canada, Spain, Britain, Italy (Monza), USA (COTA), Mexico City and Qatar.
