How to Get to Jeddah Circuit – 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

How to get to Jeddah for the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2025. Advice about flights & getting to Jeddah Circuit.

Saudi Arabia’s second largest city, Jeddah is well-connected to the rest of the Middle East. And thanks to it’s location near the holy city of Mecca, it’s also a major year-round hub for pilgrims from all around the world. Jeddah Corniche Circuit is located in the Corniche area, around 20km north of the vibrant city. We recommend staying on the north of the city centre for your trip to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as this is where the best hotels in Jeddah are located, plus it is more convenient for accessing the circuit.

Airports Near Jeddah Corniche Circuit

King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is the closest airport to Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The airport is just 15km and less than a half hour drive from the track. The airport offers direct flights to many cities around the globe and is a major hub for the Kingdom’s national airline Saudia. Jeddah’s airport also connects to regional hubs with popular local airlines. Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways all operate at the airport.

Jeddah’s airport is the busiest in Saudi Arabia, serving upward of 40 million passengers per year – many of whom arrive around Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, which is located 100km east of the airport. The airport has a dedicated Hajj Terminal for this purpose. In 2025, Haji takes place from June 4-9.

Saudi Arabia Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) offers public transport links between the airport and the city centre, but it’s best to take a taxi or Uber to your hotel.

How to Get to Jeddah Corniche Circuit

By Public Transport

Public transport routes within the city of Jeddah are not well developed. We recommend avoiding the use of public transport where possible. Be aware that the event is still in its infancy and existing public transport routes may be disrupted over the race weekend. The good news is that free shuttle services are available from key locations in the city. Further information is available on the official Saudi Arabian Grand Prix website closer to the race weekend.

By Taxi

The most convenient way of getting to the circuit is by taking a taxi or Uber. Uber is the cheapest way to get around in Jeddah. English is widely spoken, so the language barrier is unlikely to be too much of an issue. Traditional taxi services are also available. Make sure you negotiate your fare before your journey and ensure the driver is using the meter. Staff at your hotel will be able to supply you with reputable taxi firms. Please note that the venue’s perimeter is closed to traffic over the race weekend. The taxi pick up and drop off point is located near Red Sea Mall before midnight and near the concert area (Red Parking zone) after midnight.

By Car

If you have an International Driving Permit (IDP), you will be able to rent a car during your trip to Saudi Arabia. While road signs feature directions in English, local driving standards may take a while to get accustomed to. It’s much easier to let someone else do the driving. Should you decide to drive yourself, well-known car rental companies such as Enterprise, Europcar and Kayak operate in the area.
