As part of our annual ranking of Formula 1 ticket prices, we have also analyzed how affordable F1 tickets are for local fans in the twenty-one countries that the sport visits in 2025. We have done this by comparing the cost of the cheapest three-day reserved seat (grandstand seat) at each race against the average monthly net salary in each country. Across the calendar, the average amount that F1 fans in each country will spend on a three-day reserved seat for their home race is 17.9% of the average net monthly salary. This percentage ranges from less than 8% in Qatar to in excess of 50% in Mexico.

Cheapest Races for Locals to Attend: Qatar, Japan, Bahrain

Locals need to spend less than 8% of the average net monthly salary on the cheapest three-day grandstand seats in Qatar*, Japan and Bahrain*. Other cheap races for locals to attend include Canada, Austria, Singapore and Australia where the cheapest 3-day grandstand tickets cost 9-11% of the average net monthly salary. *It’s worth noting that ticket prices in oil-rich Middle Eastern countries are likely to be much less affordable for the majority of migrant workers, most of whom earn below-market wages.

Europeans Pay 17.6% of Average Net Monthly Salary on F1 Tickets

The cheapest races for locals to attend in Europe can be found in Austria, Netherlands and Monza, where the cheapest 3-day ticket costs 10-13% of the monthly net wage. After significant ticket price hikes ahead of the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, tickets are far less affordable for locals in Hungary this year, costing almost 19% of the average monthly net wage.

Most Expensive Races for Locals to Attend: Brazil, Azerbaijan, Mexico

At the other of the affordability scale, locals in Mexico need to pay just over 50% of the average monthly net salary for the cheapest 3-day grandstand ticket at their home race. Local residents enjoy a 50% discount on ticket prices for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but will still pay 38.5% of the average net monthly wage for the cheapest 3-day tickets at Baku City Circuit. (Azerbaijan is the only race on the calendar to offer discounted ticket prices for local citizens.) Attending the Sao Paulo Grand Prix is also expensive for the average Brazilian fan, who will need to pay 37% of the average wage for a three-day seat at Interlagos.

Austin, Miami & Las Vegas

Of the three races planned this year in the USA, the cheapest is in Austin, where the lowest-priced three-day reserved seat at COTA costs around 11.9% of the average net monthly wage. Ticket prices for Miami and Las Vegas are both lower for 2025, but American fans will still pay around 15.5% of the average monthly net salary for the cheapest 3-day seats at Hard Rock Stadium and 20.2% for the equivalent seats in Las Vegas.
