Formula 1 will return to Circuit of The Americas for the United States Grand Prix this October – and tickets are now on sale. If you’re looking to buy tickets for this year’s Texas race, you’ll need to act fast, as there is considerable interest.

Circuit of The Americas has been a popular addition to the F1 calendar since joining in 2012. This year marks the tenth running of the United States Grand Prix at the track. The race returned with an unprecedented weekend attendance in 2021 after not being held in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2022 race will run with a full capacity crowd, with tickets expected to sell out fast.

Though a relatively new build, the circuit takes inspiration from other iconic venues – and its elevation changes offer brilliant views for fans across the circuit. While 3-day General Admission tickets are priced at $380, 3-day tickets in the Main Grandstand on the pit straight are priced at $830. If you’re looking for a premium experience at the 2022 United States Grand Prix, consider ticket packages from F1 Experiences. Circuit of The Americas is located close to Austin – a city famed for its live music scene, BBQ food and thriving nightlife – you can be certain of an action packed weekend, both on track and off. In recent years, COTA has played host to musical megastars such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Britney Spears, with the nightly concerts becoming a highlight of the Grand Prix weekend. Headliners for 2022 have not yet been announced. On track, the three days of Formula 1 action is supported by races from junior categories which will include W Series in 2022. You can read more about the trackside experience at COTA here.

Formula 1 has enjoyed a surge in popularity in the United States in recent years. A TV deal with ESPN has made the sport more accessible to fans, while Netflix’s Drive to Survive has captured the imagination of a more mainstream audience. The 2021 United States Grand Prix was the best-attended race of the season, with 400,000 fans flocking to the circuit over the race weekend.

Miami joins the calendar in 2022

Circuit of The Americas recently secured a longer term future on the F1 calendar, extending its contract through to 2026. In 2022, the United States Grand Prix will be complemented on the calendar by a second stateside race: the Miami Grand Prix. The inaugural running of the event near Hard Rock Stadium is set to take place on May 8. Tickets for the Miami race have already sold out. There may be a third race in the United States soon, with Las Vegas expected to join the calendar as soon as 2023.

  1. Good to see that USGP tickets for 2021 are on sale but I must ask the following:
Do you know what COTA’s ticket refund policy is in the event that the race is cancelled as it was last year. Although we all hope that we will be done with the “age of COVID” well before the race date there can be no guarantees. I really don’t want to purchase tickets too far in advance if there is a no refund policy. Thanks for any info you might have on the subject.

    1. I don’t have COTA’s ticket policy to hand – and I cannot check as their site has crashed under the huge demand after going on sale 20 minutes ago. I can assure you that you will be treated well by our supplier, Grand Prix Tickets. We switched to them after some issues with our last supplier in 2020, who was taking big fees out of refunds. This won’t happen with GPT. Here’s the purchase link: https://www.gpt-worldwide.com/f1destinations/en/formula-1-united-states-grand-prix-2021-2021/4561

    1. I’ve been told there’s a plan to sell single day tickets in the future. But that won’t happen at this rate if they sell out all the 3-day tickets, which are obviously more profitable for the circuit

  2. Hi there,

Great site and info, thanks. I just purchased tickets to Austin through GPT WW. I see my Visa was charged a couple hours ago, but I have not received a confirmation email nor order number. Is this normal? Are the tickets mobile or a physical ticket mailed to me? Thanks!

    1. I can only assume that GPT has been swamped by orders for the USGP today and that’s the reason for the delay. I’ll send you an email to get the name used for the order and see if I can find it on the system.

  3. I’m about to purchase a ticket but it doesn’t say how and when I get the ticket.
I want to be sure first.

  4. I ordered my tickets earlier through GPT WW for Austin. I have yet to receive an email with confirmation or order number. When can I expect to receive this?

    1. Hi Haven, I think there are some delays with receiving the confirmation due to the high volume of sales – but you should get the confirmation today at some point

  5. hi i was wondering i purchase tickets from gpt tyoday and still havent gotten a comfirmation any idea if i will ?

    1. Yes you will. Due to the high volume of ticket sales today, there has been a delay in getting the confirmation email. But they are coming through after a few hours. Please get in touch with us tomorrow if you didn’t receive it and we will follow up with GPT.

    1. All the tickets on sale at the moment (also via COTA/Ticketmaster) are for 3 days. Single day tickets are supposed to be available in the future, but I suspect they won’t be if the 3-day ones sell out quickly.
