Tickets – 2024 Singapore Grand Prix

Everything you need to know about buying walkabout & grandstand tickets for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024. Detailed information on the best seating options at Marina Bay Street Circuit.

No matter which grandstand (or walkabout ticket) you choose, you won’t get a view of much more than the section of track directly in front of you. That’s the nature of a street circuit, but the thrill of F1 action under lights and the amazing backdrop of the Singapore skyline by night go a long way to compensating for this. Add to this the vibrant trackside atmosphere and daily concerts by some big name acts, and you have the recipe for a unique F1 experience. The Singapore Grand Prix is an immensely popular sporting event, drawing both locals and up to 40 000 tourists to Marina Bay each year. After being absent from the F1 calendar for two seasons due to COVID-19, the Singapore Grand Prix returned in 2022.

One rather large change to the Singapore Grand Prix ticket offer in 2023 was that the cheap, large and popular Bay Grandstand was not sold due to a new development in this part of the foreshore. This created a new layout of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, with Turns 16-19 removed. If you are on a budget, we still recommend Premier Walkabout tickets. Alternatively, if you want your own seat then you can consider the Padang, Connaught or Orange@Empress grandstands.

Singapore Grand Prix Tickets: Need to Know

  • Grand Prix Tickets: Walkabout, grandstand and hospitality tickets in our Singapore Grand Prix Ticket Shop are supplied by Grand Prix Tickets (GPT) from Austria, who are an authorized ticketing partner for the Singapore Grand Prix. Our tickets are official and are supplied direct by the promoter of the race. When buying more than one of the same ticket in a single transaction, you will be sat next to each other.
  • E-Tickets: Most tickets in Singapore, with the exception of some hospitality offerings, are fully digital tickets which will be emailed to you a few weeks before race weekend.
  • Zones: The Marina Bay circuit is divided into four spectator zones (plus the Paddock zone), which control entry and movement around the circuit. The more expensive grandstand tickets (and Premier Walkabout tickets) offer access to all four spectator zones, whilst other tickets limit your access to just one or two zones. If you can afford it, we recommend buying a ticket with access to Zone 1 – it’s less crowded and this is where the pits are located, as well as the Singapore Flyer.
  • Concerts: Singapore is famous for the concerts which take place after the on-track action each night on two main stages in Zone 1 (Whart Stage) and Zone 4 (Padang Stage). If you are keen to see a particular act then be sure to make sure your ticket gives you access to the zone where the concert is taking place.

Singapore Grand Prix Grandstand Tickets

All Grandstands at the Singapore Grand Prix have at least one large TV screen where you can follow the on-track action. For the majority of grandstands at Singapore, we advise choosing a seat in the highest possible row (generally 12 and above) to get a better view of the circuit above the catch fencing.

Pit Grandstand

The Pit Grandstand stretches the length of the start/finish straight and is comprised of sections AA and AB (near the final turn 23) and sections A1-A22. Sections A3 and A4 have the best view of the podium celebrations, A15 is right on the start line and the higher numbered sections are closer to turn 1. Each section of the Pit grandstand has 16 rows – get a seat in the higher rows if you can. These seats are best for action in the pits and the start/end of the race, rather than for on-track action. Access to Zones 1-4.

Turn 1 Grandstand

The Turn 1 Grandstand is split into sections A2-A8 and has 20 rows. The lowered numbered sections, A2-A5, are located before the corner so you will be mainly looking at the rear of the cars. The pick of the seats here are in A7, close to the track and right on the apex of Turn 1, where you can also see the cars enter Turns 2 and 3. Sections A8-A9 are set back from the track but also have a good panoramic view of the main straight, pit exit and opening corners. Access to Zones 1-4.

Turn 2 Grandstand

The Turn 2 Grandstand is split into sections A1-A6 and faces back down the pit straight. Fans seated here have a view of the opening three corners of the Marina Bay circuit as well as the pit exit. The A1 section has a view straight down the pit straight (great for the start) whilst the A6 section is closer to turn 3. Recommended. Access to Zones 1-4.

Connaught Grandstand

The Connaught Grandstand is a decent mid-price choice for on-track action. It’s located on the inside of Turn 14, where several incidents have happened over the past few years. There are eight sections in Connaught, A1-A8. The lowered numbered sections A1-A3 (with only seven rows) are best to avoid as they are located before the corner. The better choices are A4-A8. Get a seat in the back row here (Row 15) and you will also get a view over the back of the grandstand to Turn 8. Access to Zone 4 only.

Stamford Grandstand

The Stamford Grandstand has seven sections, A1-A7 located between Turn 7 (lowered numbered sections) and Turn 8 (higher numbered sections). Turn 7 (Memorial) is a slow left-hander offering overtaking opportunities and so it’s probably better to choose a low numbered section at Stamford, even though some seats in the higher numbered sections also afford a view of Turn 14 (as well as Turn 8). Rows in Stamford are numbered up to 24 and higher is better in this stand, as with most grandstands at Marina Bay. Access to Zone 4 only.

Esplanade Waterfront Grandstand

Esplanade Waterfront grandstand is located on the outside of the circuit between the slow-speed Turns 16 and 17 (the location of Nelson Piquet’s infamous accident in 2008). There are three sections, A1-A3. The best option here is A3 (also the highest part of the stand) where you can also see the cars approach Turn 18. This stand is also close to the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre with entertainment and food/drink outlets. There are better grandstands than this; not recommended. Access to Zone 4 only.

Padang Grandstand

Padang Grandstand is located on the inside of the circuit between Turns 9 and 10. Sections are numbered A1-A10 and B1-B11. If you go for this grandstand, the best sections are those closest to the corners – low-numbered A sections for Turn 9 and high-numbered B sections for Turn 10. Padang is not a great choice for on-track action, but is worth considering for its proximity to the Padang stage where the biggest concerts take place over the weekend. Access to Zone 4 only.

Singapore Grand Prix Walkabout Tickets

Walkabout tickets at Marina Bay are the equivalent of General Admission tickets at other races; you don’t get a reserved seat. Instead, there are bleacher-style viewing platforms around the track, some of which offer quite good elevation above the catch fencing, especially in Zone 1. In general, views can be obstructed and in some places, you will only get a fleeting view of the cars on the track.

The best days to take advantage of the Walkabout tickets are Friday and Saturday when there are less fans competing for space on the viewing platforms. A good strategy is to check out the different views on the first days, chose your preferred spot, then get there early on Sunday to claim it for the race.

Two types of Walkabout Tickets are sold in Singapore – Zone 4 and Premier Walkabout (for all zones ). Both are available as a three-day pass. The more expensive Premier Walkabout tickets provide access to Zone 1, which is their biggest selling point. There are many less fans in Zone 1 and most have either a grandstand seat or access to hospitality, meaning there’s a better chance of bagging a good spot.

Some of the best viewing areas for Premier Walkabout ticket-holders include the opening Turns 1-3, Turn 5 (where you can get very close to the action) and the final turns leading onto the Pit Straight. Zone 4 tickets are a good budget choice with access to viewing platforms on Esplanade Drive and Raffles Avenue as well as entry to the biggest concerts each day on the Padang Stage.

    1. Hi Aditi. The tickets are for the on-track racing – there are no seats which offer a view of the concert stages. The biggest concerts are held on the Padang Stage in Zone 4, which is accessible to all ticketholders (this year, Pharrell Williams is playing on Friday, September 18 and Maroon 5 is playing on Saturday, September 19). There is a smaller stage in Zone 1 called the Village Stage (Spandau Ballet is playing there this year on Saturday, September 19). If you want to see this concert, you need to ensure that the ticket you buy gives you access to Zone 1. I hope that helps.

        1. Yes, you can! All the big acts play on the Padang stage in Zone 4. If you buy tickets in the Bay grandstand, you get access to Zones 3 and 4. Enjoy the race and the concerts!

  1. Thank you for this helpful review of the tickets. I am looking at either one of the mid-priced 3-day Grandstand tickets (e.g. Connaught, Stamford or Esplanade) or one of the combination packages, probably the Padang Combination. I like the idea of the combination package due to the variety and increased access to all zones on the Saturday, but am put off by having to compromise on the view on race day. This will be my first Grand Prix and I want to make the most of the overall experience- do you have any advice as to which tickets might suit me best? Thanks

    1. Hi, thanks for your question. As it is your first race, I would go for a combination package so you can get different views over the weekend. For me, the experience of walking around the different parts of the track is just as good as sitting in your seat. If you take the Padang combination ticket, you won’t see the race start/finish, but you will save a few dollars and still get to see how everything works. Have a great weekend!

  2. This will be the first time for my wife and I to watch F1. Is it ok to watch on Friday or is it really better to watch on Saturday? Thanks!

    1. Hi Andrei, if it’s your first time at a race, you will enjoy the action on Friday. There are still two F1 sessions and lots going on. Be quick though, as Friday tickets are the cheapest and always sell out first! Hope you enjoy the experience.

  3. I have a ticket for Sept. 20 Sunday, can we see the Maroon 5 concert on Saturday even though we only have the sunday ticket? tnx

    1. The answer is no, I am afraid. If you want to see the Maroon 5 concert on Saturday, you will need a valid race ticket for that day.

      1. Hi there, may I know if I purchase a Bay Grandstand ticket (where it stated we are allow to access to zone 3 & 4) can I watch the whole race in zone 4 walkabout area instead of sitting on my pre-allocate seat? I’m confused.

          1. Hi Andrew, I want to take my kids aged 4y8m old and 1y10m to the race (age at the time of race). Do I need to buy tickets for both of them. Will the younger one be allowed to enter for free. I am planning the Connaught Stand.

          2. Hi Sharad, firstly I would not recommend taking your youngest child to the race. Here is the disclaimer from the SGP website:
Singapore GP strongly advises that children under the age of seven should not attend the race for safety and operational reasons. Children below the age of seven will only be admitted if the parent/guardian signs a Form of Release, Waiver & Discharge of Liability and Indemnity Agreement which can be obtained from this link or at ticketing counters outside the Circuit Park. For the avoidance of doubt, all persons regardless of age must have a valid ticket to enter the Circuit Park.

More information: Patrons aged 16 and below can enjoy up to 50% off the regular price for the 3-day Pit Grandstand and 3-day Stamford Grandstand tickets. All patrons 12 and under who wishes to purchase a Junior Ticket should be accompanied by an adult to the event.

Basically there are no disounts for children in the Connaught grandstand and your children will need a ticket to attend.

  4. Hi – My husband and I are flying into Singapore on Saturday night the 17th, is it possible to buy a one day ticket for the Sunday or do we have to buy a 3 day pass. Can you tell me what time the event opens and closes on Saturday – thanks

    1. Hi Karen. The circuit is open from 3pm to midnight each day of the weekend. The majority of tickets are for three days, but there is a Sunday-only zone 1 ticket for $838 SGD (until May 2), which gives you a seat in the Pit Straight Grandstand. If you think you will make it on Saturday night, then buy one of the cheaper 3-day tickets so you can get access (for the concerts too).

        1. Single day tickets are not yet on sale. I’m not even sure if there will be Sunday only tickets for Zone 1 – cheapest option, if it becomes available, will be Premier Walkabout – but this is normally only a 3-day ticket

  5. Hi, firstly thank you for you detailed report above, very informative. I’m looking at buying 2 tickets in turn 2 grandstand, could you give me a little help as in what section and row to sit in please? A good view of the track and also the tv screen would be great, went to the Belgium GP last year at Eua Rouge and my only issue was the tv screen was so far away!

Looking forward to hearing your response
    Bryan

    1. Hi Bryan, thanks for getting in touch. Turn 2 is a good choice at Marina Bay. I haven’t personally sat in that grandstand, but the A1 section is a good choice, as you get views down the pit straight. The downside is you are a little further from the track. Always go for higher row seats if you can so your views aren’t so obscured by the catch fencing. Enjoy the weekend!

  6. Hi,

I’m looking at getting two tickets for the pit straight. I see that it goes from block A1 to A22 – which block would put me in front of the cars as they start as well as directly in front of a TV screen?

    Many thanks

      1. Hi David,
Yes, all grandstands have a view of a TV screen. Sorry, I can’t be more specific on the best blocks in each grandstand to give the best TV screen views. Enjoy!

    1. Hi David,
In the pit straight grandstand, block A14 will put you right on the start line (A4 for finish line and A1 for podium). I am not sure on the exact placement of the TV screens, sorry. If you want to see the seating map for each grandstand, go to singaporegp.sg and select the ‘Buy Now’ button.

  7. Hi me n my frnds are first timers to F1 we r very much into buying walkabout tickets or bay grandstand tickets,we are bit confused what is the best tickets to buy ? Also does this both tickets has access to concerts on all 3 nights. .tks

    1. Hi Johnny, both tickets give you access on all 3 nights to the big Padang Stage in Zone 4, where all the headline concerts are held. There’s also a smaller stage in Zone 1 that can also have some good concerts. You won’t get access with the Bay Grandstand ticket, which only gets you into Zones 3 and 4. Bay Grandstand is not the best, but it can be good to have somewhere to sit for the race itself, and the rest of the time you can wander around in the Zone 3 and 4 walkabout areas. Enjoy the race!

  8. Antonello Abela

Would you recommend me buying a ticket for Esplanade Waterfront please?

What advantages does it have in contrast to the other sectors?

    Thanks.

  9. HI – the ticket allocation is automatic on Singapore F1 tickets site. how can I follow your recommendations for best seating areas?

    1. Hi David, if you want to buy on the official website (singaporegp.sg), you need to click on ‘buy now’ and then it will give you the ability to choose your zone and specific seats. If you want to buy from another ticket outlet, you will need to call them directly for specific zones/seats.

  10. Hi,

We plan on travelling with our children and would like to know what the best hotel with a balcony is to watch the Singapore race from

  11. Hi! Is there a significant difference between the Padang Combination and Bay Combination tickets? There is a 100 SGD difference between the two and we’re wondering if we could get a better experience if we opt for the more expensive ticket (Padang Combination). Thanks.

  12. Thank you for the prompt reply. This blog is by far the most informative and it helped us a lot in choosing the right seats for our budget. Kudos and keep ’em coming!

  13. Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your in depth analysis.I’m from Adelaide originally too.
Can I please get your recommendation on best ticket to buy for first time to Singapore Formula 1. It’s my partner’s 50th in September so it will be a surprise. He really loves Formula 1 and has been to a Melbourne one before. Thinking of the Pit combination package with pit grandstand on Sunday. Can you recommend some good seats where you get to see some turns like turn 1 or 2? Thanks

    1. Hello Gary, there are ticket booths near most gate entrances (plus at points around the city). Not sure what you mean by regular tickets, but if you are talking about the cheapest ‘Walkabout’ or General Admission tickets, they do sell out before the race, so best to buy online now if you can. Good luck!

        1. Hello Faqeh. You will need a ticket for your daughter. Discounted tickets for children are available for Pit Grandstand and Connaught Grandstand, otherwise you need to pay full price. Here’s some more info: “Any person under the age of 12 years of age must be accompanied and supervised at all times by his or her parent or guardian who must also hold a Ticket. SGPPL strongly advises that children under the age of seven (7) should not attend the Race
for safety and operational reasons. Children below the age of seven (7) will only be admitted if the parent/guardian signs a Form of Release, Waiver and Discharge of Liability and Indemnity Agreement.”

  14. This is a great summary. I learned a lot. Thank you…

When I look for tickets online, they usually don’t provide a row or seat. How do I apply your advice and sit higher or lower in different sections if they don’t tell me where I’m sitting?

Also…When will I eventually learn my seat number?

    Thanks…

    1. Hi Joe, if you are booking on the official SingaporeGP.sg website, you can choose yourself after you click ‘Buy Now’. For other ticket companies (e.g. Gootickets, BookF1), your best bet to get the row/seat you are after is to call the ticket company before you book. If you have already booked and don’t know, I guess you will have to wait until your tickets arrive! Enjoy the F1 night race!

  15. Eleonora Darryl

Hi, I want to ask you what are the privileges that I can get from the singapore gp 2016 ticket?

    Thanks

    1. Hi these could be described a pre-marital privledges that could be, in assistance to a paddock pass and espresso tent access, via the rear flap at the back of the motorhome. Does this help?

    1. Hi, the 3-day Zone 4 walkabout tickets ($268 SGD) are sold out for 2016 and won’t be available at the gate. However, you can still purchase 3-day Zone 1-4 walkabout tickets ($498 SGD) at singaporegp.sg. Single day Zone 4 walkabout tickets are also still available (Friday $78 SGD / Saturday $168 SGD / Sunday $198 SGD).

      1. Thanks very much mate, ended up buying 2 x premium walkabout tickets for $498 SGD so all in for the race, and hopefully the local government don’t seed the rain clouds so we get our first ever taste of an exciting wet night grand prix! What a spectacle that would be!

  16. Great site … Well done – do you know if the premium walkabout 3-day (zones 1,2,3,4) provides any access to grandstands or are they off-limits?

    1. Hi Phil, there’s no grandstand access for walkabout ticket holders. You may get lucky and find a way in on Friday when the grandstands are less busy:)

  17. Im on a tight budget, can you help me choose between Bay Grandstand vs Zone 4 Walkabout. Which will allow me to “Follow” the race & the quali better ? Thanks

    1. Hi Sam, if following the race is more important for you, then choose the Bay Grandstand where you will get a seat and (hopefully a decent) view of a big screen TV. Personally, I prefer to ‘explore’ the track and check out the different vantage points rather than sitting in one place the whole weekend, so I would definitely go for a walkabout ticket. Cheers, Andrew Balfour

      1. Thanks for the reply, I will go for walkabout (By when do they sell out ? & One more question.

Do they open the gates for track invasion like Sepang and Monza or is in only reserved for the Gran stand ticket holders ?

Thank you for your help !

        1. Hi Sam. Yes, they do open the gates for a track invasion after the race. There’s more info in our Trackside guide: “access is granted to fans in Zone 1 via a gate at the public viewing platform in front of the Turn 1 grandstand. A gate is also opened right opposite the podium allowing fans in the Pit Grandstand to enter the track.” That means you will need to have a Zone 1-4 walkabout ticket (rather than just Zone 4 walkabout). Best to buy before May 8 to get the early bird discount.

  18. Sebastian Jimenez

Hi Andrew! Great site, thank you very much for the info. Which would you recommend between Stamford grandstand and Esplanade Waterfront?

    1. Hi Sebastian, if you can afford it, pay a bit extra for the Stamford grandstand tickets. The views are a bit better and there’s always an incident or two at this section of track.

  19. rosie charlton

Hi we are hunting as a group of 4 for best 3 day tix options in the either SuperPit grandstand (is that new this year as a ‘new’ sticker next to it on web site) or good seats for turn 1.
Which would you go for and are there better rows in either to clear the fences which do obstruct the view a little.

    Thks Rosie

  20. Hi Andrew!

    Very helpful page this is.
If I had to decide between Bay Grandstand and Premiere walkabout , what is your suggestion.
I will be attending all the three days. Would the extra money spent on walkabout be worth if I really explore the circuit over the 3 days.

    1. Hi, I would choose Premier Walkabout, because I like to wander and explore, rather than sit in my seat the whole time. In general, the Bay grandstand doesn’t have very good views of the track anyway (but it is good for seeing the city skyline!)

  21. Hi Andrew,
This is the most detailed and patient answering i have seen, stretching over years!
I intend to go to the GP only on Sunday.
Is it s a good idea to take a premier walkabout,
or is it better to book a seat at the Padang grandstand?
And if it’s the latter, which seats should i be going for?
    This is my first GP.
    Thanks

    1. Premier Walkabout is good if you like to explore and don’t need a guaranteed seat. The other advantage is that you can visit all the zones with this ticket. Padang is not a great grandstand, but it’s close to the big stage for the concerts afterwards.

  22. Hi Andrew
Thanks for the detailed and patient review.
Can you tell me if i can get T1 or Pit grandstand access only for sunday?
I have checked the site, it seems to sell these tickets only for 3-days.
    Thanks

    1. Hi, T1 tickets are only sold for 3 days, but you can buy Pit Grandstand tickets for Sunday. The discount over the 3-day price is not that great however.

  23. Hello Andrew,

I am about to buy the ticket for this year but I couldn’t decide. I would like to ask you if my two concerns are to get into the track to see the podium after the race and to have time to go up on the Singapore Flyer which type of tickets should I buy.

Now I have three choices: Premier Walkabout, Premier Walkabout Combination, and Pit Combination. All the prices are fine for me but I just can’t choose.

    Thank you.

    1. It depends if you want/need a seat at all. If you don’t need, then go for the Premier Walkabout. But the combination tickets are also good if you want to see some different views. There’s no such thing as a Premier Walkabout Combination? If you mean Zone 1 Walkabout, I think this is the best of the ones you nominated.

  24. Hello, I am trying to get a ticket for Stamford Grandstand for 2019, I would like to know which A seating area is right opposite to the TV that show the race and qualify.

    Thanks

    Justin

  25. George Andrianakos

    Hi Andrew

THanks for the write up. Just wondering what your opinion is on the mid-tier grandstands? Which do you think offers the best viewing experience?

Which seats should I be looking to book in this grandstand?

    Thanks

    1. Hi George, I haven’t really sat in the mid-tier grandstands, so can’t give an honest view. I much prefer having access to Zone 1, so I’d probably choose the Zone 1 Walkabout Combination, where you sit in the Pit Grandstand on Friday and Saturday, then have Walkabout for race day.

  26. Hi Andrew!

Thanks for writing the guide. I am planning to buy ticket considering Muse is performing on Saturday 21st Sept. My priority is the concert, street action is number 2. :)

So I’m planning to buy a single day ticket which is Saturday. Does Bay Grandstand ticket recommended? How many minutes walking to the Padang Stage? Since it is the most affordable ones :)

    1. Hi Dean. Good news that Muse is playing next year. Bay Grandstand doesn’t have the best views of the track – but it does have a great view of the skyline. I’d say it’s about a 15 minute walk from the Padang Stage.

  27. I am wanting the option of full access to all zones and pit-lane (VIP PASS), but would also like to take advantage of turn 3 premier section, this is regarding singapore 2019 GP

what package would be suit my wants best?

    Thanks
    Matt

  28. Thank you very much for this article, helped a great deal as I purchased my tickets, this is my first F1 race. I purchased the premiere walkabout, just a question with this ticket, will there be a chance getting close to the drivers for an autograph or a photo during the practice sessions? Thanks again.

    1. Your best bet is to hang around outside the entrance to the F1 Paddock, which is located behind the pit garages, not far from the Singapore Flyer. You can see the drivers arriving in the afternoon and leaving later at night after the sessions.

  29. Thanks a lot for your article. Could you please help me which stage is better for concerts in Zone 4 (Padang Stage)? I mean Connaught or Padang? Because as I could get from the map Connaught seats are in front of Padang stage and Padang seats are in the back of the Padang stage. So I want to know which has better access to get to the front rows of the concert?
also about the race view, is there any difference between these to stages?
    Thanks again

    1. Hi Reza, both grandstands have similar access to the concerts. Yes, Padang is closer – but Connaught is not far away! You still need to get there early for a good view of the biggest bands. Some people just want to see the concert and not the racing. For race views, Connaught is better as it’s on a corner and Padang is on a straight.

  30. Hi Andrew!

Thanks for writing the guide. I am planning to buy ticket just for the concert. just a question though, is the concert like full concert or they just sing a couple of song before/after the race.

pardon the silly question as i’m not f1 fan, just planning to watch the concert.

  31. Hi Andrew thanks for sharing this information, I found it so much helpful. Just a small question, what do you recommend the most between Connaught or Stamford! Thanks for your help

  32. Hi Andrew, Which grandstand would you recommend Turn 1 or 2? And is it best to sit higher or lower? Is it possible to chose seats when booking as I need 4 seats together?

    1. Hi Frances, I’d probably choose Turn 2 as you may be able to watch the cars all the way down the Main Straight. Higher is better. If you purchase four tickets in one transaction, for sure they will be seated together.

        1. Not better for me :) Sure, the official Singapore Grand Prix site is a good place to buy tickets, but it would be great if you supported our site by reserving your tickets (or accommodation) using our links. All the best

  33. Hi,

I plan to see the F1 race in singapore. It will be my first time to see the race.
What is your tickets recommendation for get the best experiences?

    1. If you are on a budget, get the Premier Walkabout for access to all the zones. Zone 1 especially is the best. If you can afford a grandstand seat in Zone 1, I would go for Turn 1/2

  34. Hi, this looks like the best place to get Grand Prix queries answered!

I’m hoping to buy walk around tickets for the Sunday only – all zones. When do single day tickets get released please?

    Thanks! Lou

    1. I don’t believe they sell Premier Walkabout for single days. Only Zone 4 walkabout and some grandstands. I think single day tickets will get released soon, probably in early December.

  35. Hi! Thank you for your circuit guide.

I’m hoping to watch Singapore GP next year, and I really want to experience the pit lane action like when the teams are practicing for pit stops, etc. So which kind of ticket can give access for pit lane walk? Is it only for VIP tickets?

    1. Normally only Paddock Club and other hospitality guests get a pit walk. But there are some special VIP sessions like pit walks and driver autograph signings available – but you need to apply in advance and be one of the lucky ones that gets chosen.

        1. In my opinion, Premier Walkabout is much better than Padang Grandstand. The key is that you want to have Zone 1 access. This is where most of the action happens, and there are less people in Zone 1 than in Zone 4.

  36. Hi!Thanks for the information!
I’ve already booked the tickets for 2020, and my seat is located in Row 14, Section A4, Connaught grand stand. Can I also get a view of turn 8 in this seat?(cuz you mentioned it’s available for seats in row 15)
    Thank you!

  37. I noticed someone asked about single day tickets earlier, but they do not seem to have been released yet. We are hoping for Sunday and maybe saturday most likely in the Stamford stand. Does this sound possible to you? And are they likely to be released in the early bird period? Who would is best to contact to find this out?

      1. Hi, I’m planning on attending the Grand Prix but was wondering if you have any clue when the ticket would go on sale? Also what is the best grandstand to sit in?

With Covid I’m assuming by October travel to Singapore will be easier from the UK too!

        1. Hi Ellen, I don’t know when tickets will go on sale, but hopefully in the next 1-2 months. As for best grandstand, this depends on your budget. The ones at Turn 1 are quite expensive, but a good choice. Most important for me is that you have access to Zone 1 at the circuit, which is the best zone to be in.

  38. Hi there, we are planning to attend this year’s Singapore GP and are deciding on tickets.

A friend of mine mentioned that in 2015 he purchased a 3 day, 3 corner grandstand ticket. On the Friday it was on the pit straight, Saturday Padang Grandstand and Sunday Bay Grandstand.

I would like to go for a 3 day different grandstand ticket, so that you feel like you have experienced a few different viewpoints, but not sure if these are stilloffered/available.

Have you any idea if they are?

    Many thanks.

    1. Hi Les, they cut back the 3-corner tickets a few years ago, they are called “Combination Tickets”. Some are still available but for me the only one worth considering is the Zone 1 Combination. This gives you Pit Grandstand on Friday and Saturday, Premier Walkabout on Sunday. The downside is you don’t get an allocated seat for the race, but there are plenty of seats around in small stands if you get there early. For me, the key to a successful weekend in Singapore is to have Zone 1 access on all 3 days. There are fewer people in Zone 1, plus the chance to see headline acts on a smaller stage. It’s just better than the other zones. Hope that helps! (The other Combination tickets give you a combination of Pit Grandstand, Padang and Stamford grandstands on other days – the Padang and Stamford don’t have great views, and you won’t have access to Zone 1 on the days you have these grandstand tickets).

    1. Hi, you can find total attendance numbers for the Singapore Grand Prix here. I don’t have the number of VIP (hospitality) guests, but it’s probably about 5000.

  39. Hello, how much are the 3 day Singapore Premier Walkabout tickets usually?
Also when do these normally go on sale?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Evan, the regular price in recent years has been about $500 SGD. But the circuit normally offers a decent early bird price, where you can get them for closer to $400 SGD. Honestly don’t know when Singapore 2022 tickets will go on sale, but unlikely before January 2022 and probably more like later.

      1. Hello there Andrew! I was just wondering if you have any other websites that sell tickets for pit lane walks. The tickets on the F1 Website are all sold out, any recommendations?

        1. You cannot just buy tickets for the pit lane walks. In Singapore, I think you need to enter a competition with the promoter to get tickets for the pit lane walk.

  40. Hi Andrew – your advice is invaluable – thanks for the time you take to respond to people!

I’ve clicked through to be alerted for tickets using your link above – and as you say above, it looks like Premier walkabout tickets are no more. Given that, what would be your next choice for a first time watcher? I’m buying as a gift so my knowledge is exceptionally poor!

    Thanks in advance

    1. Hi Charlotte, if you can afford it I would go for Turn 1 or Turn 2 grandstands. The key here is access to Zone 1, which has less people and lots of places to watch – as well as a large concert stage. If you are on a budget, the Bay Grandstand is ok – though the views of the Singapore skyline are better than of the actual racing on the track.

    Muchas gracias!!!

    1. Definitely you should choose Turn 1 or Turn 2 over the Pit Grandstand for on-track action. Turn 1 and 2 grandstands are also closer to the stage and food/drink stalls, which are behind the grandstands.

  42. Hi Andrew
We are a party of 4 adults hoping to go to the Singapore F1 this year, we want 3 day pit grandstand tickets. I see A15 is good for the start line and A4 for finish line and podium, which do you think would be best for all round experience? Also, do these tickets allow us to go to other areas on the Friday and Saturday or are you restricted to the one area.

    1. Hi Chris, I’d personally choose Turn 1/2 grandstand over the Pit Grandstand as you can see more on-track action. But if I had to choose a section in the Pit Grandstand, I would choose closer to Turn 1 as you have a shorter distance to the stage area and concessions behind Turn 1.

      1. Hi Andrew

Thanks for the reply, is really useful and I’ll look at the options you’ve suggested before buying.
        Thanks again.

  43. Hi Andrew. Yesterday before the closing of the pre-sale of tickets on the official website of the grand prize I saw cheaper prices. Now all the tickets have gone up in price, including the price list you gave us. Or are those prices for those of us who signed up for the presale?

    Thanks a lot!!

    1. Honestly, I don’t have specific information on the pre-sale prices. I was contacted by our ticket agent who said the cheaper prices we had will not apply. There is normally an advantage buying earlier with early-bird discounts, but the process is being conducted privately this year. Sorry I’m not sure what is happening right now.

  44. We are looking to purchase tickets for the first time this year however will have one of our group of 4 guests with mobility issues and possibly a wheelchair. Can you please advise on the best options with this in mind? Thank you

  45. Hi, Andrew! I really appreciate the information you’ve provided here for someone who is planning to purchase tickets for the first time. I was wondering if there would be single-day tickets available, or if they would only be selling 3-day tickets this year. My priorities are Turn 1 and Turn 2 grandstands, but I’m not so sure if single-day tickets apply there. Thank you in advance and well wishes!

    1. They have sold single-day tickets in the past, but normally only for Walkabout (General Admission) and some of the cheaper grandstands. If you want to sit in Turn 1/2, I’m pretty sure you will only be able to get 3-day tickets.

  46. Hi Andrew do you know of any packages that offer grandstand seating for 3 days + a tour of pit lane? Cheers!

    1. Sounds like you are going to have to wait for F1 Experiences packages, which will offer this. I don’t know when they will be on sale, hopefully later in April

  47. Hi, I don’t see the price of the general walkabout ticket options. Do you have any info on that? Thanks!

    1. Honestly, I don’t have an opinion on this grandstand as I’ve never sat in it. But as one of the cheaper grandstands, the pricing tells you that it doesn’t have the best views. Unfortunately, the nature of a street circuit is that you are never going to see lots of the track and the catch fencing is always going to be an issue.

  48. Atharva Pradhan

Hey, I would like to know whether the Bay grandstand tickets for the 2022 grand prix are still available, and how quickly the tickets usually sell out. This is my one chance at watching an F1 race live and I don’t wanna miss out. Cheers!

        1. I don’t know the answer to that question, but based on how quickly tickets are selling for all the other races this year, I think that Singapore tickets will sell out very fast. Don’t delay when you have the chance to buy

  49. Hi andrew, i just see a 3-days ticket being sold for now. But I just need a single day ticket on sunday for padang/stamford grandstand. Should i wait or get the 3 days ticket instead?

    1. I don’t know if single-day tickets will be sold this year. I understand that many of the pre-sale tickets are already sold out, so I would be buying the 3-day tickets otherwise you may miss out completely

  50. Hi Andrew. No concerts have been announced for this year yet. Do you have an estimate of when the events for the race will be announced? Will there be concerts like other years?
    Thank you very much

    1. I hope there will be big-name concerts in Singapore, just like before the pandemic. But I have no information yet. Tickets will be going on public sale soon, so hopefully more information will be announced at that time

  51. Harpreet Kaur

Hi. May I know what’s the difference between the Pit Grandstand and the Pit Grandstand Junior? The price difference is half of it. Is the view the same?

    1. Perhaps if you buy with the circuit you can choose specific seats with Combination packages, but I’m not sure. With our supplier, you cannot choose specific seats

  52. Hi Andrew, me and my wife recently relocated to Singapore and would like to attend this years race, though we are completely uninitiated about F1 and attending just for the thrill of live sports and concerts. What tickets would you suggest, since it’s our first time ever watching f1 (live or TV), and since we are more interested in concerts I’m thinking Bay stand or Padang, so we don’t have to spend too much on something we don’t understand a lot. Please advise best tickets for initiations and concerts

  53. Hi Andrew! Thinking of bringing my dad to Singapore this year but missed the priority sale last week. The general sale opens in a few days and am thinking of whether I should purchase Bay Grandstand tickets or wait for the walkabout tickets? We’re pretty new to the sport and would be our first time watching live. Also, how much does Zone 4 walkabout tickets usually cost? Thanks!

    1. Have they confirmed if Walkabout Tickets will even be on sale this year? I’ve not seen anything about these. Given that the event is likely to sell out quickly, I would be buying the Bay Grandstand and not missing out. I’m not 100% sure, but I think Zone 4 Walkabout tickets were about the same price as the Bay Grandstand

  54. Hi there, if I plan to buy Bay Grandstand tickets for 2022, will i get to “invade” the circuit post-race to watch the podium ceremony? Or do I have to buy separate tickets?

  55. Hi Andrew, you mentioned top seat for Turn 1 Grandstand is A7. Any recommendation on which row should I choose? thank you.

    Really great and informative website!

  56. What do you suggest between 3 day pit combination and Turn 1-2 grandstands.
I am keen to explore the circuit over three days at the same time want to enjoy the start and finish along with some pit action. You recommend Turn 2 over pit straight?
Pit straight would give more visibility of pits right.

    1. And buying pit tickets or turn 2 tickets would give me access to all zones? Can I just walk everywhere?

      1. Yes, that’s the advantage of Pit Grandstand and Turn 1-2 Grandstans. You have access to all the zones at the circuit. These are located in Zone 1, which has less people and more chances to check out different views of the action

  57. NICHOLAS A SURIN

Hi there, the tickets are sold out in the official website, how guaranteed that I will be getting the tickets via F1 Destinations? Sorry to ask, as I am a great F1 enthusiast and I just secured my flights and hotel but without a race ticket.

    1. I can assure you that our tickets are legitimate. These are sold by Grand Prix Tickets (GPT) who have been a trusted source of F1 tickets since 1991. The tickets come direct from the promoter in Singapore.

  58. Hi,

I had a question about purchasing tickets in general. Looking to go to Suzuka but since Singapore has availability I used it as my “trial run” to go over the ticket buying process from F1 Destinations. Once I find my preferred grandstand I would like to purchase, for example, Connaught, how do I select seats based on your recommendations (i.e. A4-A8, higher rows). Seems like on the checkout page it only lets me choose the grandstand. I assume this is the same for all circuits, including Suzuka?

Sorry if this seemed like a dumb question and thanks for putting together these guides.

    1. Hello, unfortunately with our ticket supplier it’s not possible to choose specific sections or seats. This is normally only possible with the circuit/promoter, but in the case of Singapore they are already sold out. Don’t worry, not a dumb question!

  59. Good day!
It is going to be our first time watching an F1 race live, I would like to know if the walk around tickets are available and i would like to ask the price. And we were also thinking on buying the Bay grandstand ticket i would like to know if which is better between the two, Lastly I would like to clarify if we will purchase the Bay grandstand ticket will it be a three day access ticket or not?

    1. Hi Gerald, the Walkabout tickets are not yet on sale. Bay Grandstand 3-day tickets are already sold out, but more are likely to be released. I’d definitely choose the Premier Walkabout over the Bay Grandstand, as you can get access to all four zones at the track. You really want to have access to Zone 1 (Pit Straight etc) as this is the best.

      1. Hi Andrew,

Can you post a link where we can purchase the walkabout tickets? I can’t seem to find them.

        Thank you.

        1. Hi Marcus, these are not yet on sale. I think it’s to do with the local health restrictions. The Walkabout tickets are expected to go on sale a bit later, but I don’t know when exactly.

      2. Hi Andrew,

Fantastic article and information for a first timer! I notice in this comment that you say Bay Grandstand tickets are sold out, however in the buy tickets link in the article they’re still available. Is this because more have been released? It’s my first time buying so I just want to make sure it’s not some kind of pre-order or hopes that more tickets will be released.

        Thanks!

        1. Thanks Heidi! Yes, more Bay Grandstand tickets have been added to the shop. This is confirmed inventory, our supplier would never sell tickets they don’t have. I suggest buying soon as these are cheapest tickets and will probably sell out again soon.

      3. Hi Andrew, the walkabout tickets are going on sale tomorrow 24th May 2022. Are these tickets on your site too? and also available tomorrow?, are they the same price? and would it be easier to get them on your site (ie do they sell out quicker on the official site?)

        1. Hi Sandra, we will have Walkabout tickets, but probably only 3-day tickets. Price will be comparable to the Singapore site, maybe a little bit higher. And yes, I do expect it will be easier to buy on our site rather than on the official site – they will probably sell out very quickly.

  60. Hi Andrew, thanks for the great article. I purchased tickets for Stamford Grandstand Row 18 hope it’s good!
Do we know which artists will have concert this year?
Also what is the program for Friday and Saturday? Any other races? Thanks!

      1. Andrew, I am considering tickets in Empress Vs Connaught Vs Padang. I am coming to the GP for my first time with my fiance. We are both into racing but also want a good stand to get to the shows after. We are thinking empress for the racing, will we be able to make it to the stage for the events after ?

        1. Hi Callum, honestly I’ve never actually sat in any of these grandstands. I think the views are not exceptional in any of them, but I’d probably choose Stamford/Connaught/Empress over Padang as the views of the corners are better than the view of the straight at Padang. Honestly, all of these grandstands will put you pretty close to the main stage for the post-race concerts.

  61. Hi Andrew!
Great informative post, thank you. Do you have any idea when single day tickets go on sale? Can’t seem to find that information.
    Hoping for 2x Sunday tix.

  62. Hi Andrew! Thanks for the informative post.
Have already bought tix for the bay grandstand. Would like to check if you recommend for us to buy the walkabout tix for access to zone 1? Also, are we allowed to watch the race from other places in zone 3 & 4 instead of our bay grandstand seats?

    1. Hello, if you can afford it, I would recommend buying the Premier Walkabout tickets which include access to Zone 1. But if you don’t purchase, it is still possible to watch at other places in Zone 3 and Zone 4 – but remember these areas will be quite busy, especially on Saturday and Sunday.

  63. Hi, This is my first f1 experience. do you know what the best spots in zone 4 walkabout? And what time should we arrive?
your answer would be kindly appreciated

    1. Will you be going on all three days? My best advice is to walk around as much as you can on Friday, as there are generally less people and easier to check out the different areas. When you find some place you want to watch on Saturday and Sunday, I suggest getting there earlier to try to secure your spot! I don’t have specific advice for best spots in Zone 4 walkabout, but there are some platforms next to corners where you can watch. For gate opening times and the F1 times, please check our Trackside post for Singapore. Up to you when you get there, but I’d be looking to arrive early to get your money’s worth!

  64. Hi Andrew, i just bought ticket for my 1st formula1 gp.i have premiere walkabout on friday (want to explore all the track view ) and sunday bay grandstand on lower dark blue (turn 16-17) just wondering is it possible for me to bring camera there? like mirrorles/dslr camera.

    1. I haven’t seen the full list of approved/prohibited items for entering the Singapore Grand Prix this year, but you can generally take a DSLR camera to a circuit, provided the lens is not too big (more than 200mm could be an issue at the gate)

  65. I am planning to buy Singapore GP Premier Walkabout Ticket. Does it provide paddock access ? Thank you for your article. It helps a lot.

    1. Hello, these passes do not provide Paddock access. However you can get to the Paddock entrance, where you may be able to meet some drivers when they are arriving or leaving the circuit. The only passes that provide Paddock access are some high end hospitality packages (big $$$) and also some F1 Experiences packages.

  66. Hi Andrew,
I see that Turn 2 is sold out from your ticket supplier. I am going with my husband and he loves F1. This will be our first time watching live race. Now I have to choose between 3 day Pit and 3 day Turn 1 grandstand. What do you recommend as the price difference is not so much. Also I see that we can’t choose the seats from F1 destinations. Does that mean we have to go early to the race to choose a seat of our liking?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Hello! I would personally choose the Turn 1 grandstand instead of the Pit Grandstand, but that’s because I prefer to see the on-track action rather than the start/pits action. It’s up to you! You cannot choose specific seat, but you will be allocated seats at a later date when the e-tickets are issued to you. You will have to sit in that seat, but practically when you are at the track, especially on Friday, it can be possible to sit in other seats if they are free. Probably for qualifying and the race, all the seats will be full, so you will have to sit in your allocated seat

      1. Thank you, Andrew. We have booked the tickets. Do you know when they would issue the e-tickets? Many thanks.

          1. Hi Andrew,
does that mean that there are no lanyards this year, only e-tickets? That would be super disappointing as I want to keep the ticket as souvenir…
            Cheers!

  67. Hello Andrew,
Thanks so much for sharing. This website is really amazing!
I am considering buying single day (Sunday) Premier Walkabout tickets for my 5-year-old boy and myself. Any idea if Premier Walkabout tickets are kids-friendly?
Will there be any chance to get a good view of the pit and the finish line (considering that I am going with my little one)?
    Many thanks for your time!

    1. Hi Rex, yes I would say the Premier Walkabout tickets are kid friendly. The best place to hang out is in Zone 1, which includes the pits etc and is less crowded than the other zones. You even have some seats available, plus viewing platforms. However, you cannot get a good view of the pits or the finish line, as these views are for the grandstand ticket holders.

      1. Thoughts on Turn 1, A2 Row 14?

Will I be able to see down the pit straight as well as most of the turns?

        Love the advice here.

        Cheers!

  68. Hello again Andrew, as I try to look for tips for zone 4 walkabout, someone said that we could take Esplanade theatre elevator to the top floor where there is a rooftop viewing deck with free access. Can you confirm if it’s true whether it is open during race weekend or not?

    Thank you

    1. Yes, you can! It’s open on race weekend and I’ve been there personally in 2019. It’s a great place to get some nice views, even of the track. This photo was taken from the roof looking down to the courtyard below, where you can buy drinks and get food.

  69. Hi andrew, I want to ask can I by any chance watch the formula 1 race from the Supertree Observatory in Gardens By The Bay?

  70. Hello Andrew! Thank you for sharing!

This will be my first time watching a live F1 race in Singapore and I’m planning to watch together with my sister. I’m planning to purchase either the 1-DAY (Sun) Bay Grandstand ticket or the Premier walkabout (Fri/Sat). I’d like to watch the final race on Sunday but tickets are quite $$ for finals.
What tickets would you suggest as the best purchase, since it’s our first time ever watching and I’d like to see the on-track action and get a better view of it.

Which day do you recommend to watch the F1 live race? I just want to make sure so that I’ll be able to get the most F1 experience out of it. Will there be Single day ticket for Turn 1/Turn 2 on sunday?

And do you know what event will there be on Fri/Sat as the final race is on Sun? Do you think its better to purchase ticket now or nearer to the race? As I’ve read there’ll be other tickets release at a later date.

    1. I would personally buy the Premier Walkabout on Friday or Saturday over the Bay Grandstand on Sunday. You will have much better views of the circuit, and also access to all the Zones. (Zone 1 is the best!). There will be less fans at the track on Friday, meaning a better viewing experience in Premier Walkabout, but you may want to go for qualifying on Saturday. Up to you. You can learn more about what’s happening on the track in this post: Trackside at Marina Bay – 2022 Singapore Grand Prix

  71. Hello again Andrew!
For the Premier Walkabout, which turn and spots will be best to watch the race? Are there seats that will be placed along the corner?

I’m planning to buy the premier walkabout on Sat to watch Qualifying, what time would be best to come to the race and will it be possible to meet the driver or get a photo with them at Zone 1? Are premier walkabout tickets allowed to enter the Paddock access?

As I’ve heard, there will only be e-tickets issued in email. Do we need to print the e-ticket for admission? So that means there will be no lanyards for General tickets this year? Except for those hospitality packages. Your reply is appreciated!

    1. Best spot is on the outside of the last corner, where there is a large platform. But of course it gets very busy and full early on race day, and also for qualifying. Another option is proper grandstand seats on the inside of the straight before the last corner (in front of the Singapore flyer). It’s normally easy to get a seat here, but the view of the track is not great, and no view of a big screen from memory. Basically, you should come as early as you can – but I always prefer to walk around rather than staying and protecting a good view. You cannot enter the Paddock with Premier Walkabout, but you can hang around the Paddock Entrance – this is a great place to get driver selfies/autographs when they arrive at the start of the day and later when they leave. Not sure if you have to print your e-ticket, but I always prefer to do so – then you have it on your phone and a physical copy in case of any issues.

  72. Hello Andrew,

I hope you’re well! I have bought 2 three-day tickets to the Stamford Grandstand for the Singapore GP via the F1 Destinations link on Grand Prix Tickets. I wanted to confirm that both the tickets will be seated together, right? Also, since this year there will be e-tickets, any idea how long before the race will I receive them via email?

    Thank you.

    1. Yes you will be seated together when you buy more than one ticket in the same transaction. The delivery of the e-tickets depends on when they are issued by the circuit/promoter, normally around 2-4 weeks before the race

  73. Hi,
Will there be ticket booths in the venue if anyone decides to buy a ticket on race day? Are they still issuing physical tickets/card with lanyard?

    1. I’m expecting the race to be completely sold out, in which case you won’t be able to buy a ticket on the day. You really need to purchase in advance if you want to attend this year. Grandstand and walkabout tickets will be e-tickets, only hospitality tickets will be physical. We still have good availability on most grandstands in our Singapore GP ticket shop.

  74. Hi, Andrew
Sir, I have a few questions, if u don’t mind

    1. If I buy a ticket to Pit Grandstand or at the Turn 1/2 Grandstands – I will have access to Zones 1-4. What does it really mean? That I can walk around there like if I had Premiere Walkabouts tickets?
I will come with a child, so it would be nice to have opportunity to walk around and not only sit on our places on the Grandstand.

    2. I cannot choose row and seat while I’m buying. Is that correct? When I’ve been to Italian Monza GP in 2012 I could choose the exact row and seat.
So if I cannot choose how these will be distributed among all the customers?

    3. If I buy tickets only for Sunday will I still be able to have fun at the FanZone, make photos with the cars, get autographs, etc.?

    4. What tickets would you advise in general for the families with childrenn (4-5 yo)?

    1. Hello Nick.
      1. This means that you will be able to enter all spectator areas at the circuit. For example, the concerts on the Padang stage are in Zone 4. And yes, you can use viewing platforms around the circuit that are also available for Premier Walkabout ticket holders and other fans in each zone.
      2. That’s correct, you cannot choose row/seat with our supplier. This is possible with the promoter (Singaporegp.sg) but they are sold out of most tickets at the moment. If you buy more than one ticket in one transaction, you will of course be seated together.
      3. Yes, but there are also different concerts/attractions on each day, so you will only see what is happening on race day.
      4. I think any ticket is fine, perhaps also it will be better to have allocated grandstand seats when you are travelling with younger children.

      1. Thank you, Andrew! It’s great help!
One more question – there are different places I can buy tickets from that I’ve found so far:
        your supplier (gpt-worldwide, I believe)
        formula1 official site
        gootickets
        singaporegp.sg
Are all these valid suppliers, no fake tickets? Is there any significant difference where to buy (besides the fact that singaporegp.sg gives you seat selection)?

        1. Yes correct. All the listed ticket agents are either the official one (Singaporegp.sg) or authorised resellers. The only difference will be price, and also availability.

  75. Hello!
I am trying to buy the ticket, and I would like to know which sections/package are the once allowed to view the concert as well?
    thanks
    Alessia

    1. All tickets provide access to Zone 4 to see the main concerts on the Padang Stage. However, there’s also a smaller stage in Zone 1, which is only available to Zone 1 ticket holders and Premier Walkabout. The smaller stage in Zone 1 doesn’t have the headliners, but some of the larger bands do appear there as well as on Padang. It’s a good stage as less crowded than Padang.

    1. No. I think entry to the autograph sessions in Singapore – which normally happen on Thursday – is only via social media competitions. But keep an eye out on social posts from the Singapore GP, as they may announce something else for this year. But basically it’s too early to know. I wouldn’t expect more information until a week or two before the race.

  76. Andrew,

Which would you recommend, the Turn 1 Grandstand or the Pit Grandstand, for the best view of the cars in action?

    1. Definitely Turn 1 for watching the cars in action, and for seeing some passing moves – also good for the start of the race. As the name suggests, the Pit Grandstand is better for seeing the action in the pits.

      1. Thanks, Andrew! Can’t wait!

A quick question about zones, my turn 1 grandstand seat gives me access to all zones. Does this mean I can roam around all the zones and watch from where I want? For example, if a friend were at zone 1 could I go and watch with them for a while?

        1. Yes correct. You can watch in any of the zones. Remember that there is less people always in Zone 1 than the other zones, so it can be easier to get a good vantage point – but the most popular places to watch without grandstand (like on the outside of the final corner) do get busy, even on Friday.

          1. Thank you, Andrew! You’ve been so helpful!

One last question, since you’ve been to the event before, what can I expect from the ‘meet and greet’ with the drivers at the Wharf stage?

          2. I’ve been to the last three races, but the meet and greet with the drivers is new for 2022. I expect there will be some interviews on the stage with the drivers and also a signing session – but I guess lots of people will be there, so not everyone will actually get an autograph or selfie

  77. Do you know whether there are still any premier walkabout tickets left for the Sunday? And if not, do you know whether there will be a resale or late release tickets? Thank you

  78. Hi,

I’m currently thinking of buying a 3 day premier walkabout tickets, what’s your review? Is it recommended? And do we get a seat on premier walkabout tickets, because i saw on your youtube there is unreserved grandstand that we can use in Friday/saturday. And one more, can 3 day ticket holders access the track on Thursday?

    Thank you

    1. I love Premier Walkabout in Singapore. I think it’s an excellent choice. Yes there are some viewing platforms, as well as some unreserved seats on the inside of the final corner (near the Singapore Flyer). You can’t access the track on Thursday at all, as far as I’m aware. But of course the circuit is in the middle of the city, so maybe some areas are open.

  79. Hi Andrew! Thanks for all the info. I just wondering how to meet the drivers with premier walkabout tickets apart from attending the meet and greet in the zone 1 stage? Is waiting the drivers in the paddock entrance is the best opportunity? And in what hours do the drivers usually arrive to the track in Singapore? Or waiting them in their hotels is an option? And do you know where the drivers usually stays in Singapore?

And one more, does we get cheaper price for merchandise when we buy the one that they sells offline in the gp?

Thank you!! Sorry for the long question:)

    1. Hello, you can definitely try the meet and greet on the Zone 1 stage, but hanging around near the paddock entrance will be a better strategy for meeting drivers. In terms of what time they arrive, it’s normally around 2-4 hours before the first F1 session. They leave around 2-4 hours after the last session at night. Waiting near hotel entrances can also be a good option. The drivers stay at the hotels closest to the pits, so the Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, Pan Pacific. I’m not 100% sure about the merchandise prices at the track, but at least you save on delivery and you can try on before you buy!

  80. Eduardo Castilla

Hi Andrew. Thanks for this Amazing guide. Do you know any physical or digital platforms to buy second hand tickets?

    1. Hi Eduardo, we still have tickets available in our Singapore Grand Prix ticket shop. Is there a specific grandstand you are interested in that we don’t have available? I think you’ll find the cheapest Bay Grandstand is sold out everywhere, and resale platforms will be more expensive than some of the better grandstands that we do have tickets for.

  81. Hi Andrew.
I already bought ticket for Bay Grandstand for 3 days.
Is it reserved seat? Can I wander and explore without my seat taken?
    Thank you in advance

  82. Hi Andrew

The ticket for turn 1 on your website does not give the exact row and seat number.

You mentioned above that A7 is the best position. Can we get clarity on the location of the tickets before we purchase?

    cheers

    1. You can only choose section/row/seat number when buying direct with the Singapore GP promoter, but they are mostly sold out. With our ticket supplier, you only choose the grandstand – you can make a request for a particular section and our ticket company will try to accommodate your request.

  83. Does Premier Walkabout have access to seating? I know there are viewing platforms but from what I’ve seen online, it looks like it is for standing only?

Also, if I buy tickets from gpt-worldwide, when will they be delivered?

    Thanks!

    1. There are some seats for Premier Walkabout, for example on the inside of the final corner – at least there were in 2019! Also you will find some platforms, where you can sit or stand to get a better elevated view. If you buy from our supplier, the tickets will be sent as e-tickets on your email. When you receive depends on when the Singapore promoter supplies to GPT, but should be in the next 1-2 weeks

      1. Thanks for the reply. Just bought Turn 1 3-day tickets on GPT! I guess if I get bored of my Turn 1 seat, I’ll just walk around and find another seat as if I had Premier Walkabout.

        1. Nice one Frank. Yes, that’s a good plan. Even in the past when I had a grandstand seat, I still spent most of the time wandering around. Still, it’s nice to have your own seat for qualifying and for the race start

  84. Hi Andrew , just checking with you.. When I get the E ticket through email .. Can I have some friend help me to pick it up the ticket.. Thank you for your help Andrew

  85. Hello Andrew, your help has been amazing throughout to our planning for this year’s race.

Just one question, what time would the meet and greet session in Zone 1 would be on Saturday? Just need a rough timing to plan attending the concerts.

    Many thanks.

    1. Hi, thanks! I don’t think the time has been announced yet. If I had to guess, I would say it will be around 4pm :) There’s a concert on the Wharf stage at 5pm (TLC) and the third F1 practice session starts at 6pm.

  86. Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the amazing contribution that you provide.

I have a couple of questions. I have a fanatic Ferrari and F1 friend of mine visiting Singapore.

    1) I am between Premier Walkabout Ticket or Pit Combination, it’s his first time. What would you suggest if it were you?
I am of a fan of Premier tickets cause of the freedom, but Singapore is hot so a seat for comfort would be great! I would appreciate your thoughts?
    2) If we go on the flyer do we get to see a good view of the track?
    3) Any tips to get up close to Ferrari team?

    Thank you so so much.

    1. Hello Alexandros, sorry for the delayed response.
      1. I’d choose the Premier Walkabout, as I like to wander around rather than sit in one seat all day. It’s nice to have a seat for the race though. Up to you.
      2. Yes, the Singapore Flyer has a great view of the track. I recommend going up during an F1 session. It used to be free for fans in Zone 1, but I think you now have to pay.
      3. If you are in Zone 1, you can try to hang around the Paddock entrance (close to the flyer). If you are patient, you can meet the drivers quickly when they are arriving or leaving the circuit.

  87. Hi Andrew. What would you select between Bay Grandstand and zone 4 walkabout tickets and why?

Do the bay grandstand ticket holders get to go all the places where zone four walkabout ticket holders are allowed?

    1. If you can afford it, then go for Bay Grandstand. It has all the same access as Zone 4 Walkabout, but you at least get a seat for yourself – this is good for qualifying/race when it’s busy out in the walkabout zones.

    1. You can just walk through, not sure if there will be a ticket check going from Zone 1 to Zone 4, but there will be coming back from Zone 4 to Zone 1 as only certain ticket holders can get into Zone 1

  88. Hi Andrew,
I noticed the Singapore GP site has just released new Pit Entry Grandstand tickets. Do you know what the view from this stand might be? Is it worth buying? Seems to be also close to the podium, acc. to the track map.
Debating getting this over the Premium Walkabout, so as to have a seat during the race but they are approx. double the price of the Premium Walkabout. Appreciate your input!

    1. Hi it seems like the Pit Entry is a good location, but of course we don’t know what the actual views will be yet. I’m a big fan of the Premier Walkabout, so I’d be saving my money and getting that.

  89. Hi, sorry im new to the f1 scene and would like to get tickets as gift for my friend. Can i check if i buy the bay grandstand for Friday’s (30th sept) race, im able to access the race for the whole of Friday right? Thanks in advance!

  90. Hi Andrew, last min ticket purchase here. Just like to double confirm if the Black Eyed Peas are playing in Zone 4 or Zone 1 on 1st Oct, Sat? The Circuit Park map indicated Zone 4 whereas the entertainment Line up states Zone 1. Appreciate some certainty as we are flying into SG last min. Thank You!

    1. Hi there, Black Eyed Peas are performing twice over the weekend, that may be why there’s some confusion! On Saturday 1st Oct, they perform on the Padang Stage in Zone 4. They’re also performing on Sunday 2nd Oct on the Wharf Stage in Zone 1.

  91. Hi Andrew, i want to ask.
So if im a bay grandstand ticket holder, i can’t watch the podium celebration?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Hello, you can’t watch the podium celebration from the Bay Grandstand, but you can walk around from Bay to the start/finish straight as soon as the race finishes to watch the podium. You should be able to walk on the track after the race to get there.

  92. Hi Andrew! Your article is very insightful! Thank you so much!

I’m planning to attend again in 2023. But I’m torn between Pit Grandstand for its pit actions, or Turn 1/2 Grandstand for the on-track actions.

May I ask – which provides a more valuable experience? Would it be Pit or On-track actions?

  93. Hi Andrew,

What a great race yesterday. A great restart for F1 in Singapore. Green Day was also awesome.

Prepping for next year. If I buy walk-about tickets, are there any free seating anywhere on the track?

    Thanks,

    Frank

    1. Yes it was great. I was in Premier Walkabout this year, and there are loads of platforms around the track, as well as some grandstand seats. Best areas are in Zone 1, especially inside of Turns 1-3 and the outside of the final corners.

  94. Hi Andrew, we’re planning to attend next year in T2 but we have some questions. If we buy 4 tickets from your site will our seats be together? And is there any chance to choose grandstand section or is it subject to availability? Thank you very much

    1. Hello Fernando, yes if you buy four tickets in one transaction you will be seated together. The actual section is subject to availability, but you can make a request after purchase.

      1. Hello again Andrew, thank you for that, today I bought the tickets and wrote on the additional commentaries box that we desired section A3 if available. Is that enough or where should I make the request to be taken into consideration? Thanks in advance

  95. Hi there,

Looking to attend next years race as part of our Honeymoon trip.
Do any ticket retailers offer Sunday Only grandstand tickets or are these normally sold as part of the 3-day option only?

    Thanks again,
    Scott

    1. Some Sunday only tickets are sold, but the sales don’t start until quite late, probably after April next year. And generally, these are lower priced Walkabout or cheaper grandstands.

      1. Hi Andrew, which block do you prefer the most if wechoose the Pit Grandstand? For now, I see Row 1-2 of A7,A8,A14,A15,A20,A22,23 as well as Row 13-14 for A21 and A24 on the offcial website are avalible.

        1. Hi Peter, just been looking at the seating plan for the Pit Grandstand. I’d personally avoid Rows 1-2 – although you are closer to the track, you also have the catch fence in the way and less panoramic views. If I had to choose between A21 and A24 I’d go for A24 as closer to the first corner, where you can see some on-track action. But in general I prefer Turn 2 (especially the section A1-A2 seats which look down the Main Straight as well as at the opening corners)

  96. Hi, we have seats in the pit grandstand in section A16, do you think these would be good or recommend to see if it’s possible to change? We have a pit combination package with seats in Padang and Stamford on the Friday and Saturday. Do we get access to the concerts on all 3 days? Thanks!

    1. Hi Vikesh, I think A16 looks like a good spot to sit in the Pit Grandstand, close to the start/finish line. You do get access to concerts on all days, but remember the Zones at the circuit. For Friday and Saturday you only have access to Zone 4 (Padang Stage). On Sunday, you have access to all zones, including Zone 1 (Wharf Stage).

  97. Hi Andrew.

Do race day only Turn 1 or Turn 2 grandstand ticket ever go on sale? If so, when does it usually go on sale?

  98. Hi Andrew,

I’ve reading your guide to secure tickets for Singapore GP in the past years. This year due to a change in schedule, I’m just about to get tickets for me and my friends now with not much choices left.

I saw 3-day tickets available at the new Raffles Grandstand at T5. May I seek your advice on the view from this grandstand and whether lower rows or higher rows will be preferred?

    Many thanks!

    1. Hard to say on the view from the Raffles Grandstand, but could be quite good. Always higher rows preferred as you can see the cars above the trackside fencing.

  99. Hello
I’ve booked a “Pit combination” where I’m one day at Padang, one at Stamford and one on the pit straight. Can I only access the Zones where my seats are on the day? So if I have Pit straight seat in Zone 1, I cant see Robbie Williams in Zone 4?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    1. Hi Chris, when you are in Padang and Stamford grandstands, you will only have access to Zone 4. However, when you are in the Pit Straight Grandstand, you have access to all Zones 1-4.

  100. Hi Andrew,

Another question from me for another GP! You’ve helped me with Monza last year and Silverstone this year, so now my questions for Singapore … next year! Thank you as always!

Sorry as I know it’s early but as I am from the UK I need to plan this trip quite far in advance. Reading you’re guide I think I am going for tickets in Turn 1 Grandstand block A5 / 6 or 7, leaning towards A6 though. Do all of these sections see the cars coming to the end of straight and going round turns one, two and three?

I see tickets tend to go on sale a year in advance, so I suspect any time over the next few weeks! How quickly do they sell out and do you have an idea what time of day they go on sale as there is a big time difference and worried I may be asleep and miss the good seats!

    Thanks again!

    1. Hi Alex, you have good timing. Super early bird tickets for Singapore 2024 went on sale yesterday!
When you click on the grandstand you are interested in, you get to the seat plan after going through a few steps – and you can see what’s available. I think A6 in Turn 1 is a good section. I also like A3 or A4 in Turn 2, as you get a front on view of the cars coming down the straight, and then taking Turns 1-3. The Super Early Bird prices are only valid until September 25, so you will save by buying early.

      1. Tickets purchased!! Decided to get block A6 in Turn 1. Ended up with row 6, which is a little lower than I’d of liked but sure they will be fine. Now to get the flights sorted.

Super Early Bird was a very nice surprise and much cheaper than I expected to pay.

          1. Thanks, Andrew! Will be my first time in Singapore and will be heading to Bali after so rather excited, even if it’s a year away.

  101. Hello!
I’m interested in buying the Walkabouts ticket. Do you have any idea on when usually they’d be on sale? I think they didn’t sell it on the Early Bird one. Will they be on sale with the normal ticket type or different dates? Thank you in advance!

    1. They will be on sale later. I’m not 100% on memory, but I think they didn’t go on sale this year until around March – but it could have been earlier. Subscribe to the Singapore GP website for updates, also subscribe to our site – and check the box for Singapore. We’ll let you know when they go on sale!

  102. Hi Andrew! Thanks for the informative article!

It’s my first time attending an F1 event, and I love cars, which makes me super excited.

I am looking at the ticket for SG GP 2024 and hesitated whether I should go for the grandstand or Premier Walkabout.

T2 grandstand is my ideal spot, but it’s a bit over budget for me. While for the Premier Walkabout, I believe I am able to find some good spots near T2 but pay half the price. What do you think?

    1. Last few times I was at the Singapore GP, I always went with the Premier Walkabout. I don’t mind not having my own reserved seat, because I like to explore. And of course it’s much cheaper. I think the race is getting a bit more popular, and the organizers have added some new grandstands in the last few years that take away some of the Premier Walkabout areas, but I would still choose it and save the money!
