The governing body of Formula 1 (the FIA) has released an updated provisional calendar for 2016. Next year’s series still features a total of 21 races, but the start of the season in Australia has been brought forward by 2 weeks to reinstate a longer break for teams during the European summer.

Provisional 21-race F1 calendar announced for 2016

The World Motor Sport council of the FIA met last Friday in Mexico and unveiled details of the provisional F1 calendar for 2016, which features a record 21 dates between its kick off in Australia on April 3 and finale in Abu Dhabi on November 27.

FIA updates 2015 F1 calendar

The FIA has today announced details of a 21-race F1 calendar for 2015. The new calendar is broadly similar to the one announced on September 12 (see here), apart from the provisional reinstatement of the Korean Grand Prix, which was last held in 2013.
